Berry Breakfast Crumble
Serving: 1 serving

8 blackberries
8 raspberries
handful of organic porridge oats
1 cup natural live yoghurt
2 apples or 200ml apple juice
1 teaspoon honey (optional)

This delicous fruit smoothie is definitely worth getting up for and can be very quick to make. The berries give a wonderfully summery flavour and also give the smoothie excellent immune boosting properties. Blackberry and Raspberry are both high in antioxidants, these antioxidants neutralize free radicals that damage your cells. These antioxidants can also help reduce the signs of ageing.

The berries and honey contain natural sugars that will give you an energy lift and the oats have a low GI value and so will provide you with sustained energy release throughout the morning.

Juice the apples and add to the yoghurt in the blender. If you don't have a juicer or time to juice the apples then you can use apple juice from a carton / bottle but fresh juice is preferred as it is loaded with enzymes that act as the catalyst for many processes within the body. Juice in a carton is heat treated to extend its shelf life and this heating destroys enzymes in the juice.

Add the berries add blend until smooth. Serve in a shallow glass and sprinkle the oats on top. Drizzle the honey over the oats. For a swirl effect keep back half the yoghurt and gently stir it in after blending until a marbled effect is achieved.

Peach Beach Smoothie
Serving: 1 long glass

2 ripe peaches
1 mango
1/2 Lemon
1 handful white seedless grapes OR 1 cup white grape juice OR 1cup filtered water Handful or two of ice cubes

You would feel right at home drinking this at a Hawaian styled poolside bar overlooking the beach. This recipe sends a delicate fizz across the taste buds and is highly refreshing. Make sure your peaches are ripe for maximum juiciness and taste.

This smoothie recipe is a great immune booster and is also great for helping achieve healthy looking skin as it is loaded with vitamin C and vitamin A. Mango provides vitamin C and vitamin A in abundance and peaches and lemons are also bursting with vitamin C. If you are out in the sun the antioxidant properties of vitamin C will help protect your skin although it is by no means an alternative sun block! All these fruits are also good sources of natural sugars and so would give you the energy for playing beach volleyball / going surfing or equally active, non beach activities.

Cut the mango in half and remove the stone with a spoon. Remove the mango flesh and chop into chunks. Discard the mango skin. Wash the peaches, cut in half and remove the stones and then chop into 1 inch chunks. Chop the lemon in half and extract the juice from one of the halves by using a small hand held citrus reamer or a fork. Blend the ice briefly in your blender / smoothie maker until it is of 'crushed ice' consistency, remove the ice and place it in a glass. Add the grapes / grape juice / water to the blender followed by the lemon juice, mango and peach. Blend until smooth. Pour the smoothie mixture into the glass over the crushed ice. Serve straight away. You can adapt the thickness of the drinks texture to your taste by using more / less grape juice / water.

Watering Hole
Serving: 1 large glass

1 ½ cups watermelon
1 Pear
1 cup strawberries
&frac; cup natural live yoghurt OR ½ cup ice

Dice the watermelon (remove some seeds if you have the patience). Wash the pear and cut it in half and them remove the core by making two narrow, lengthways cuts that meet in the middle. Wash the strawberries and remove their tops. Put all ingredients into the smoothie maker or blender and blend all ingredients till smooth.

The watermelon seeds give the smoothie a bit of a rough texture that some people aren’t keen on. If you aren’t keen on the smoothie texture with the seeds in then you can either try the fiddly job of deseeding the watermelon before juicing or try juicing the watermelon and use the juice as the smoothies liquid base.

The benefit of the watermelon seeds is that they are an excellent source of roughage that helps to clear the digestive tract. In fact this recipe with the pear and strawberries is a great source of fibre which is important for a healthy digestive system.

Strawberries and watermelon are a good source of vitamin C. Watermelon is a source of vitamin B6 which plays a part in the growth of new cells, assisting the immune system and may help prevent skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dandruff.

1. 1. Take an ice cream flavor of your preference and leave it to melt in a glass.
2. 2. Add your water on top.
3. 3. Now add the flavor that matches the ice cream flavor you choose. I would go with 1 tablespoons but if you like it stonger then add more.
4. 4. You can either blend it all or mix it by hand.
5. 5. Drink up.
6. 6. I am not sure yet if 1 tablespoons of vanilla is adequate but I imagine you could go with caramel ice cream topping as a substitute.
7. 7. But on that note I imagine jellies or other toppings would be great to mix in with vanilla ice cream as well.
8. 8. There's a while word of flavor so try things until you like them.

Whoa! This is a wide open question with no true answers exept anything you like! I like melons & berries the best, with an orange juice base, also the tropical fruits are so great, pineapple, mango, papaya. The combinations are unlimited! You need to experiment (maybe with friends). Have a great time & come up with cominations that knock you out! Just keep throwin' stuff in the blender. Don't limit yourself to any one recipe. And don't forget other ingredients like soy, portien, nuts & grains, dried fruits (ooooh), lemon for tartness....sky's the limit!! . Have a smoothie making party & award the one that's the best liked!

Take whatever fresh fruit you have or like, add it to the blender, add some yogurt and a splash of juice, and a few ice cubes (unless you use frozen fruit then you dont need the ice) and then blend until everything is mixed up.
