There a number of great and easy craft ideas that you can do that can help kids leran and explore as well!

Make snowflakes-
Paper snowflakes - kids this age could use child's scissors and cut- you could have the pieces pre- folded to make it easier. add glitter glue to cut down on the mess if you wanted to get more creative.

Pipe cleaner Snowflakes - one of the least messy craft supplies- you can just twist and make anything , including snowflakes.

Two-Play dough makes a great modeling compound that dries - or use clay that you can bake and have them play with different shapes to incorporate learning as well- or make Valentine Hearts for everyone they know.

One of my favorite things is fleece - which you can purchase by the yard at any fabric store - You can cut to desired Length and let kids cut fringe, tie knots, etc...to make scarfs. it helps with motor coordination too!

Paper plate and Paper Bag Puppet projects- Every kid loves a craft they can play with - make puppets out of brown paper bags or folded paper plates of their favorite characters, etc.. you can probably find materials you'd need around the house!

One of my favorite resources is a company called Oriental Trading- you can purchase all types of craft supplies and kits that keep it easy and they are CHEAP!

-What about cotton ball snowmen - the cotton balls are glued to a paper snowman figure and then they can add eyes, a nose, mouth, and a hat made from paper or any other substance - they turn out really cute.
-You could also do felt snowmen or styrofoam ball snowmen...
-Paper snowflakes where you cut the folded paper.
-Popsicle stick sleighs - just glue 3 or 4 together side by side (flat so there is two behind that they are glued to_ and two that are on their sides glued underneath and teh students paint them.
-Umm...a hand print wreath in winter colours so blues, grays, whites - trace their hand and glue the cut outs together in a circle for a wreath
-Pinecomb snowmen painted white and decorated or penguins with felt pieces for feet and eyes, etc. or paper.
-Salt crystal snowflakes - use heavy dark paper but not construction paper as it doesnt work as well
-Paper plate penguins - glue black ovals for arms, a black circle for head, orange circular feet, beek, and white eyes

Hope you like one of these ideas, have fun!
