alot of celebrities go to bodrum. beyonce was there last year. bodrum is a lovely place to visit... if you love to shop.. only problemi have with bodrum is the fact its a bit pricey compared to other resorts.
i always go to gumbet which is about 3km from bodrum. the beach is great for watersports and the bars are fantastic. and it less pricey.
in bodrum u would pat around 6lira for a beer whereas in gumbet u would pat between 2 and 4 lira.
clothes are cheaper in gumbet as well. make sure u stock up on plenty of 'genuine fakes' lol.

I live in Bodrum,Bodrum itself is very busy and noisy but a good base where you can get cheap public transport to small quiet beachs nearby. If you like nightlife and tourist spots with no real local atmosphere Gumbet is next to Bodrum,if you prefer quieter places Turgutriesand Bitez are both nearby with good hotels and restaurants.

bodrum is very good , there is also marmaris , kus adasi, oludeniz and much more. bodrum is great because it is low cost and is close to everything. you should definetly go. i went to turkey last summer thinking that it was a dry ugly desert land with ugly people. but actualy i was really r wrong. i was so surprised at how modern turkey was. it was very easy to do think to . every one is very well educated and transportation was easy and cheap. when i came to olu deniz i was stunned. i have been to the caribean and hawaii before and those were not at GOOD AT ALL . TURKEY WAS MUCH BETTER!!.

I also live here and what a holiday you will have if you chose it. If you want to do anything and I mean anything, come on over. I holidayed here for 5 years and just couldn't get enough of the place. Young, old, or in between, there is an activity for you. If you want to chill then chill. If you want to party then party. Or if you want a bit of both, have both.
The people are friendly and hospitable and the food and drink is second to none.
You will be blown away !!!!!

Bodrum is rather touristy and party central.
I preferred my travels along the Lycean coast.
