I am enrolling my son in a great private school and I would love to have a scholarship or grant for his tuition. I can pay for it but it takes more than 80% of my paycheck. We get an income from my husband too but I would like to save some money for our house too. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Please No comments on how public or home school would be better. I will not put my son in a public school for personal reasons. I am homeschooling now and I do not feel I am giving him the time he deserves now that I am working again.

Before anyone says it : No I cannot quit my job because it is our family business and my husband and father need my help.

Thank you all in advance!!!!

Talk to someone that works in the financial aid area of your son's school. They should be able to help you in some way.

I am really glad you asked us instead of hiring some scholarship or tuition advisor because there is also a website that devotes 100% of the site to scholarships and grants; that's all it does. The name is fastweb.com. Its free and should be just what you are looking for. i do not know whether or not your son's school would fall into the category's listed on the site(because it is mostly for high school and college age students and you did not specify what grade your son is in), but it is worth the try.

I hope I could help you out in some way.

The majority of private schools offer some internal scholarships, just talk with the admissions people there. Also, many private schools have deals with banks that will allow you to pay for the tuition through a very very low interest loan.

The private schools around me do have programs but you cant make over a certain amount of money. You need to check with the school.

My daughter goes to catholic school and I got a scholarship through the catholic church. The school helped me get it going, so just talk to them. But just to let you know, I understand the need to put them through private school. I would never put my daughter in public school, no matter what I had to sacrifice.

I suggest you contact the school in question...however given your income he may not qualify as those are for lower income children most of the time.

most private schools offers subsidy but only to low income family. I would suggest calling all private schools that you want to go to around your area and inquire. good luck.

talk to the headmaster.

my sisters kids all went to catholic school at a reduced rate when my sister started teaching spanish there. she only taught like 1 class a day for 3 days a week. so maybe there is something they can do.

You should really ask the school's financial aid office. They have the answers you need, not the people on Yahoo.
