There isn't any lead in a lead pencil... it's graphite.
The most you have to worry about would be wood splinters. Considering what I've seen dogs eat, I doubt you have much to be concerned about.
Just to be on the safe side... Watch her for a day or so for any signs of illness, lethargy, etc... and examine her next couple stools for any signs of occult or frank blood (frank blood's easy... it's red blood. Occult blood indicates problems higher in the GI tract, and is evidenced by black stools). If you notice any illness, problems with the stools, etc - get her to a vet.
But really - highly doubt you have anything to fear. Dogs digest quickly... if there was going to be a problem, you'd more than likely know something was wrong by now.

No, she doesn't. Lead in a pencil is not actually lead, it's graphite which is not toxic.
Assuming that she didn't swallow it whole she'll probably be ok. You might want to take her to the vet and get an x-ray just to make sure the pencil isn't broken into dangerous shards. I'm guessing though that she chewed it up pretty well and it'll pass without any problem.

I don't think it will be a problem. #2 pencils do not have lead in them. They are made of clay and graphite. The clay-graphite mixture is poured into wooden forms. I would just keep an eye on her, and if you see any unusual changes, then take her to the vet and have her checked out to make sure she's ok. Another thing you can do to know for sure, and it's free, is to just give your vet a call, and tell them what happened and see what they say about it.

All dogs will go through an adjustment period when being transitioned from one place to another. Maybe try soaking the puppy chow to the point of almost too soggy. Can even add puppy formula to this to provide the extra since he's having a rougher transition. As long as you reassure the pup that he's safe and will be cared for he should start coming around in another day or two. If he is still not eating/drinking at that point I'd get him to a vet.

My chichiuaua has ate every thing. The lead in the pencil will not hurt your puppy. Just watch her stool
the pencil can get stuck and your puppy may have a hard time passing the chewed up pencil. So if she starts having diarreha and passing alittle blood
you should take her to the vet and they will give her medicine to take so she can pass the pencil. Good Luck.

The "lead" in a pencil is actually a form of carbon called graphite. No actual lead in a pencil. The wood splinters won't do him any good though.

No...lead is no longer used in pencils. However I wouldn't leave them around as he could choke on them (or any other foreign object) or puncture the stomach or intestine. Having a puppy is much like having a baby in the respect that you have to safe guard things until they learn limits

Probably not. Unless it was an extremely old pencil. Pencils these days are made with graphite. Not lead.

Nope, the 'lead' is made from graphite. However I would be majorly concerned about splinters in her throat, stomach, intestines. If this pup starts acting at all strange or different from the norm get her to a vet.
