if you are alergic to butter milk does that mean you cant have normall milk either? I am allergic to butter milk but now when ever i have any dairy of anykind i get sick. Could i be allergic to dairy completely?!?!

You might be, or you might be lactose-intolerant.

Talk to your physician and/or allergist.

You might be lactose intolerant ... then again it might be temporary. Since I was like 7 I couldn't drink plain milk by itself without gagging or throwing it back up. I used to drink milk when I was little though, like a toddler, so this came from nowhere. The doctors dont understand because I can eat yogurt, cheese, and even milk only if its with cereal. So you might only be allergic temporarily (like a few years) or it might pass within this month. It could be permanent. Or you might not even have a real allergy! You should see a doctor.

Yes. In fact, you most likely are: I know a few people who are lactose-intolerant who can drink buttermilk.
