Are your kids in sports, such as little league or soccer? If so, are you quick to step up and help out or are you one who says "I can't" or "I'm too busy."? What makes you hesitant to volunteer? I'm on the board of my sons' little league and I'm having a hard time getting people to help out, even though they said they'd volunteer. It's frustrating, I'm busy, too (Work, two kids in sports, on the Board, writing a novel), but I still find the time to help the league, if needed. Why don't others want to help?

some people most likely have anxiety issues, wether it be anxiety with people or stress issues and dont want to stress themself out with multiple work. i personally am a stay at home mom and wish i could remain one just so that i can be involved with all of my kids activites when they go off to school.

I Know what you are talking about. my son is into sports and I don't volunteer because I don't know anything about sports and the parents are really mean to the coaches. My son is 9. I do help the coaches with paperwork and getting the kids in order and stuff like that but every year they threaten to cancel because no one will help. My husband would love to help but he works full time and has a side business so we are lucky to see him home before 7. Some people really are too busy.

I would like more parents to get involved in education and volunteer at school, sports really isn't necessary in my opinion, education is more important. Usually only the wealthier parents have the time to volunteer for sports.

It may not be the time commitments as such. I help coach my son's team, and enjoy it. What may put some off are liability isssues and criminal record checks taht are now needed for th eslightest thing. We are not making it easy.
