1. Use his speed
2. Avoid DLH's deadly left hook
3. Use the entire ring
4. Do everything he can to keep his father out of DLH's corner
5. Come to the fight in the best shape of his life
BTW, I'm rooting for DLH for the second time in my life. The first? Against that blowhard jerkoff Mayorga.

1) Use the whole ring
2) Do not stand toe to toe with Oscar.
3) Be the ring general, set the pace and control the flow of the fight.
4) Pick the time that's right for him to exchange with Oscar. As he must do this to win the fight. Oscar's too popular of a fighter to get away with running and sticking the whole fight.
(Mayweather must be careful when he does exchange, De La Hoya has the power and crispness of punch to knock out Floyd)
5) Stay off the ropes and out of the corners, as Oscar will try to out physical Floyd in the fight(if De La Hoya employs the right gameplan)as Oscar is the much bigger man.
I know it's not much different from what Floyd does in his other fights. But Floyd isn't the one that has to change his style to win this fight. Oscar has to change his style and become a bully, a boxer who specializes in cutting off the ring and as relentless to the body as Joe Frazier was. These are things Oscar isn't known for.

Floyd Mayweather has to fight good to beat De La Hoya
1st: Use his speed, De La Hoya is just to big to trade with. Do what he did against Baldomir.
2nd: Be aware, don't get caught with any lucky punches.
3rd: Fight smart not on emotions, even though people have said **** about him don't try to prove crap to them
4th: Get in De La Hoya's head
5th: Use the entire ring, don't get cornered

2 - Run!!
3 - Stay alert and on his toes
4 - Run!!
5 - Run!!
I don't like De la Hoya, but I don't like Pretty Boy Floyd even more.

1. He must move, he has to use his legs in this fight.
2. He must counterpunch, Oscar is the bigger man and he is going to press Floyd, so Floyd has to be ready to make him miss and make him pay. He can't trade punch for punch with Oscar.
3. He must fight smart. He cannot let the crowd dictate how he fights this fight because a lot of people want to see him stand and trade with Oscar.
4. He must use his jab. He may be able to keep Oscar off balance with an effective jab.
5. He must listen to his corner. With Floyd Sr. in the opposite corner, his emotions will be at an all-time high and he can't let himself get caught up in trying to do something stupid to prove something to his father. He must follow his corner's advice and stick to the game plan.
