Female dogs stay in heat for a month. Depending on the female she may bleed a little or a lot. They make female doggy dippers.

A pit bull will stay in heat for approximately 3 weeks, don't worry if its a little longer.
For a pit bull, the best bet is to use the the doggy diapers that are not disposable. I used to get these little denim ones at petco and you just put dog panty liners in them. She will tear off the disposable ones, and then you will have 2 big messes to deal with.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU1N9
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

IF SHE DOES NOT CARRY A PEDIGREE, PLEASE, DO NOT BREED HER. Without a Pedigree she is just pet quality and Our Lord knows we don't need any more mutts.

They are in heat for 21 days. The prime time for breeding is the 9th-14th day. That's not to say that she won't accept a male on other days.

You should spay her. Take a trip down to the city animal shelter and look at all the pitbulls waiting to be put to sleep, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

What? She's not spayed. Don't worry about how long she's in heat, get her spayed and you won't have to worry about it anymore.
