What is the purpose of "worshiping" something so powerful?

It's all-powerful. It doesn't need anything to worship it.

Unless it has some sort of a self-esteem issue that is.

Is that it? Does your "god" have an inferiorority complex?

Rather odd, given the fact that it's supposed to be all-powerful, don't you think?

I dont believe we need to judge you on the levels or circumstances relating to the reasons you ask this question. You simply need an answer that's why u asked. Yes! the universe was created by the Almighty God. And Yes! he is all powerful, all knowing and omnipresent.. and that my dear is ur answer. You only worship what is powerful. If you think you are all powerful and all knowing then we will worship you. But you are not! Only God is Almighty.. Amen

Indeed, why should he care at all? Ever since Adam sinned & carried the entire human race down with him, no sense at all in saving us, we should all just be left in our sins and into the lake of fire we go. And most of the world (yourself included, it seems) don't worship him anyway, and all you're doing with your question is proving my point.

My "wake-up call" to the reality of God had to do with the Holy Spirit working in my heart, opening my spiritual eyes to see a God very worthy of worship for what he has done for me. Does he "need" worship? I have to agree with you there, no, he does not, but I think a God that has saved me deserves more than a nod of selfish "acceptance" for what he has done in my life.

God doesn't NEED anyone to worship Him. It was his decision to create us. Since he is all powerful, His decision to give you the opportunity to live in a place so wonderful that your best imagination can't come close and worship Him is something you should be jumping for joy to have. Instead, you mock and trivialize your creator.

What is your definition of worship?
If you're thinking down on your knees, wailing and swaying, then you make a point.
Worship should be a simple recognition and gratitude for what the Creator has given us.
Its about gratitude.

It sounds like you are the one with the low self esteem attitude, You are wanting people to agree with you when you really don't even know what you are saying. You will either worship God or the devil, & since you like to poke fun at God, Then you are worshipping satan & don't even know it, Therefore satan must have a low self esteem also, So with your low self esteem & satans, you make a good pair.

I think he simply wants us to love him. Even though he is very powerful and doesn't need anyone or anything he still has feelings. He created us and all living things for his pleasure and he wants us to enjoy our eternal lives with him.

Reverance, respect.

Why do we "chair" select professors.

Why do we have Nobel Prizes, Oscars. Why do we have an A, B, C, D, F grading system in school.

God does not have an inferiority complex at all; it's just that we are created to serve Him and His people who are lost.

Besides, He equips us to better serve Him.

If there is a God, it must be more like Black and White where our universe exists for entertainment purposes only.

God created us for relationship. We are created to worship and glorify Him and His kingdom.

We all worship something. Even you my Gator friend.

Follow where you spend your time and money and you will find what you worship.

It could be Yahoo! Answers, spending lots of time on the PC, work, career, money, houses, cars, boats, skiing, lust / porn etc. Pick your poison.

Have you ever been to a concert where people have their lighters lite or hands raised bouncing to the beat of the music? I have and it's called worship.
