I have this loud annoying bird behind my house, it is huge, all white same size and shape of a turkey but it's definitely not a turkey. small head with some decorative fuzzy feathers coming out the top of it. Anybody know? It's not a prarie chicken or grouse.

It's the size of a freakin turkey! I really doubt it's somebody's pet cockatoo!

Um....it's not smaller, like more chicken size is it? I guess my question is...you didn't somehow end up with someone's cockatoo in your back yard, did you? Make sure it's not someone's pet, it could be really dangerous for him out there if it is
EDITED TO ADD:
You should go outside and see if you can approach it. If it's a cockatoo, they are usually pretty friendly, and may be very hungry and ready to come to you. Larger species of birds can actually attack him and kill him. If it is indeed a cockatoo, I'm sure his owner is looking for him and in an extreme state of panic. I would call your animal control if you're not comfortable making contact with the bird. On the upside, if no one claims him after a few weeks, you could always take care of him and keep him after you're sure you can't find an owner for him. Cockatoos are awesome species, very coveted, and very loved. There's a couple of places online for people who've lost their birds. Birds n Ways has a forum for it, I think.
Check it out. You could be doing someone a great big, huge favor. If you're not motivated by the bird, I'll tell you that if that ever happened to me, where my bird got out, I'd have a big fat reward attached to pictures of him all over the place.

Can you add where you live? What country, what part of the country. Could be a Partmidgen (i didnt spell it right) some common species will turn white for the winter in the colder climates. Is it a ground bird? a Tree bird? Large? Med? Small? any black or dark brown plumage on it? That can help identify a bird.
Also if you got a close look does it have a thick parrot bill, a duck bill, a seed bill? what does it sound like? Screaming, tweeting, cawing, crowing, clucking?
Additional Info: IF the bird has a long flowing tail and a smallish head with a crown of feathers coming off the top, or if it looks like it has an egyptian mascara job around the eyes, it is most likely a feral White Ressesive Peacock. They have escaped from breeders and done very well in texas, if its a she she wont have the immpressive tail but she will be darn NOISY. Male Peacocks cry like a stricken woman. AHHHH WAAAHHH!
BRANDON!! does it look anything like this bird in the picture?? if it does its a white Peacock.

HEY WHO EVER GAVE ME A THUMBS DOWN ... eat poop cause seriously he said the bird was a GROUND BIRD the SIZE OF A TURKEY. When was the last time anyone saw a full sized COCKATOO running around on the damn ground and was the size of a freaking turkey? That would be one massive crazy but COCKATOO

Well you're best bet is to call animal control and explain the situation. Let them come out and deal with it. It's probably a Peacock that escaped either from it's owner or the zoo. If it was a cockatoo it wouldn't be the size of a turkey. Don't approach it just call animal control, they'll come out and probably catch it and you won't be dealing with the annoying little bugger anymore.

My Answerr is boring: The sparrows. All the sparrows. I like them b/c they are the only bird--other than the ground-feeding junco--that will come to the feeder when I put it close to the house window. They are not as afraid as the other, more clourful birds. I feed the wild birds only in the wintertime. I live in a rural area & have found out that paying for feed in the other seasons is just a waste of $$ as the birds have so much food elsewhere that they won't eat from the feeder, & the food goes bad & I end up having to feed the bird seed to the chickens--layer mash is a lot less expensive than the bird seed.

I agree it sounds as if it may be someone's pet parrot. Cockatoo more than likely. Please try to approach it and save it from danger. And look around to see if someone is missing a wonderful pet. I agree with the person about if one of my 4 parrots were to get lost I would be lost. I would post pictures everywhere. Stand on the corner with signs and all. Like I would if my child were missing. :)

I think its one of the Egrets. In Dallas this time of year Great Egret is the most likely species, but it could be a Cattle Egret. They do have a very loud call. Here are a couple of pictures.

Sounds like you have either a male swan or a goose problem. They both can be very loud and annoying, and will bite you if you get near them unless you have bread in hand.
