He was playing and laughing and when i got home after picking him up at playschool he all of a sudden started saying eina eina whilst touching his ear. School has no record of him doing that during the day. He has no fever just a runny nose which is possibly flu cause ive got flu. On off he was whining but still playing but when bedtime came he started crying non stop. What could it be, what can i do? Ive given Calpol, and also some tissue salts..... When he starts crying he its non stop and he only stops when falling asleep due to being tired..

He doesnt have a fever so it shouldnt be an infection
Eina means it is painfull. It all happened just too sudden for me and therefore i dont have a clue. From a happy child to a whining crying child in a couple of minutes......

It seems to bother him when he moves. When he starts crying its uncontrollable - last time i saw that was when a baby had colic. What else could it be and what can i do. Its 22h00 at night what to do till i can take him to a doctor.

It will take me about 2 hours to get to ER. How do i comfort my child whilst driving and he is screaming ?.... a bit difficult.
He cries and then stops, sleeps for 30 min. Wake up, cries, fall asleep and wake up and so it goes on. Thank you for the advise on something warm on his ear but he pushes me away (its not too hot/cold) He also dont want to fall asleep on my chest, only once in bed and now on the couch.

As others have said, it sounds like an ear infection. You say it's late where you are and you can't get him to the pediatrician right now. That's understandable.

What can you do right now to help ease his pain?

~Give him some tylenol.

~Warmth on has always helped my little ones when they have had ear infections. There are a few ways to do this. The method tha I usually use is this; put a towel in the dryer for a few minutes and hold is against his ear. Keep another towel in the dryer, and rotate the two as they cool off. Also, simply hold your son against your chest (with the painful ear facing you). The warmth from your body will help ease the pain... it's also always comforting to have mama hold you when your hurting.

~Don't lay him flat to sleep. Laying him flat will cause more pressure and more pain. Try elevating his mattress by placing something under the mattress to lift it up. I wouldn't put anything directly under him. If you can, lean back on a couch or chair and hold him while he sleeps. Between you holding him (so he's comforted by mama's constant presence), the warmth of your body (heat on his ear) and not having to lay flat to sleep (more pressure, more pain) he may get a decent night's rest.

Get him to the pediatrician as soon as possible in the morning. I get ear infections on occassion and the pain can be tremendous!

Good luck and I hope your little one feels better quickly!

ETA: He's crying because he's in pain and that's perfectly understandable. You want to try to keep him as calm as possible, though, because the crying is going to make the pain worse.

Good luck.

Just because a school is private, it does not mean that there won't be tough kids there who will bully and be naughty. All schools have naughty kids, it doesn't matter whether you pay $300 a year or $30,000 a year Obviously you care about the well-being of your son and you want him to do the best he can, but kids will be kids and you cannot judge a book by its cover. You can go to open days were you can meet some of the students at the school, talk with the principal and have a tour of the grounds, by doing this you will learn alot more about the school and what goes on there rather than just think it must be a good school with perfect children because it's so expensive.

He can have an ear ache without an ear infection. Usually happens when water gets in the ear canal. Or when he has been exposed to cold wind. Some times a heating pad or similar device helps, warm moist wash cloths on the ear might help.

2 hours to get to the ER. Well you could have been there already! I am thinking that you are just lazy or that you are lying about this whole thing.

Just put the kid in the car and drive. What good are you doing by watching him cry at home? He will probably sleep a little better from the movement of the car anyway.

The child is directing you to the location of the problem.

Either an ear infection, a physical damage (rupture),even a foreign matter or an bite insect could be the cause. He needs to have his ear examined right away.

Definitely could be an ear infection. Rubbing the ear is a classic sign. Take him to the doc and good luck!!!

have you ever heard of a pediatrician? or even the Emergency Room or Urgent Care Center (both of which are open 24 hours per day)? Please get him seen by a doctor right away, in the next few hours.

Your child is letting you know he's in terrible pain and probably has an ear infection, fluid build-up on his eardrum, or a foreign object in his ear. any of which if left untreated can cause hearing loss and a burst eardrum.

get him seen by a doctor and get some antibiotics and ear drops right away, if needed.

don't let your little boy suffer!

Could be an ear infection. Take him to the doctor just to be sure. He could have stuck something in his ear too :( If he did, they can take it out safely there.

Sounds like and ear infection or ruptured ear drum to me.A runny nose with no fever sounds like and allergy to me and they can cause ear infections.I would take hime to a DR to be examined.
