Why do you think they contradict themselves, They don't, You just have to simply know how to read it, There is many prophecies in the Old testament that pertains to the time we are living In, So I go by both OT & NT, But I know how to go by both, that is the difference, If you think I have to keep the laws of the Old testamnet, Romans 10:4 says as in many other places That Jesus Christ is the End of the Law unto righteoueness,

There are lots of people who own New Testamants. We used to hand themt to every grade 5 student in school. We live by the NT because it contains the teaching for the church, but there are hundreds of references back into the OT so we are constantly in the Old for the clarification of the New. So we follow both of them whether you think it is possible or not. They do not in the least contradict each other. You just have not studied the Bible enough to make that judgment.

Dear Mr. Jibba Jabba Prime:
Christians follow the New Testament.
However, your question shows clearly why they should NOT label the Bible as Old and New Testament.
The word 'old' alludes to out-dated, of no use.
Such is not the case here.
The Scriptures (originally written in Hebrew) contain history, poetry, prophecies, proverbs that are of value today.
If we refer specifically to the Laws given to Israel, through Moses ....that's over!
Romans 10:4 says it categorically.
As well as:
Ephesians 2:15
Colossians 2:14
Romans 7:6
Actually, the whole answer is summed-up at Romans 15:4
"For all the things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction. . ."
