If you like reading I think libraries always look classy in any house. Think about your hobbies and dedicate the room to that. Such as scrapbooking or sewing.

Back east, folks in the more northern climes would call an extra room a Florida Room, and put in furnishings like rattan chairs, light bamboo shades, etc, to capture some summer for the darker times in the winter. Along those lines, you could go with a garden theme, floor it in rough stones, add drainage, increase the light to be almost day-like in intensity, and build an indoor terrarium type of room.Even apply one of those graphics to one wall that includes a scene of a park or forested hill, just to lean into it totally before you even bring in the real plants, stands, tables, and sprinkler system. Good luck with this! I love doing over rooms, so this would be fun!

How about a spa? Could you put in a hot tub and fill the room with plants and books? The library idea is a good one too. Or if it's not a HUGE room - you could turn it into a sort of "warehouse"...put in shelving units and stock up on items that you use a lot when you catch them on sale - that could save you a bundle over the long haul. Store Christmas decorations in there, etc.

If I had a spare room downstairs, I would take the computer and related junk and set it all up in one area. Computers (except the iMac) are generally quite ugly and take a lot of space with desks and units for printers and related accessories. The sewing machine could fit in there too, with a table and storage for materials and thread etc. An organized hobby room type of thing.

Well, I think given the stressful environment that we live and work in.It may be a room used for relaxation. Meaning. if you have kids so many times as parents or busy adults. we loose that important time with them. Make it a no tv , video, zone. try putting things like books , Board games, geared for the family. card games. It opens up a great opportunity for the family to reconnect. there are to many influences out there that we really need to monitor. And even with couples it allows you time to snuggle.

relies upon in case you opt for to be innovative on the walls (mutually with your paint/artwork artwork) or in case you basically opt for the coloration and personality to come back out on your comfortable fixtures (cushions/curtains etc). I continuously imagine your more desirable off going loopy with upload-ons because you may continuously replace those straightforward and create yet another seem fullyyt. i'd bypass with a comfortable wall coloration (what ever your determination - lilac/pink/blue - regardless of the indisputable fact that it must be a light-weight version) and then in case you want pretend fur and fluffy stuff combine that with hues of your wild self - basically have relaxing doing it and once you're taking a seat decrease back and imagine that you created this, you'll savour it even more desirable - solid success

Maybe a study with a nice desk and bookshelves. Add a comfy chair to encourage reading in the space. You could pay bills, use the computer, and relax.

Do you have kids? It would be an ideal "craft room" (for yourself, too). Keep wrapping paper, etc., stamps, scrapbook stuff, etc. all in one area. Buy a large folding craft table, spindles to hold ribbon. Wow, I'd have a blast in there!!!!

I know what I would do...install shelving and turn it into a giant closet to store holiday decorations, out of season clothes and all that stuff we seem to accumulate... in my dreams it would have shevles, hanging rods and closed cabinets..in my dreams
