White Russians aren't exactly manly. You don't want a "mixed drink", you want a highball. Basically, you want an alcohol mixed with a mixer (like soda or juice, though techincally a HB wouldn't be juice).
Stick with something mixed with soda, or just plain old straight alcohol. Rum & Coke (Call Bacardi or Captain Morgan's instead of well), Vodka Tonic (Call Stoli or better) and Gin & Tonic (Call Sapphire or better) are the most common. 7&7 (aka 14) is also a popular drink, along with Jack & Coke, and even Amaretto & Coke (tastes like Dr Pepper). A Martini is always a good bet, just be sure to call a good alcohol (like Sapphire, Ketel One, Boodles, etc).
And I disagree about the call alcohol comment above. On most liquors, as long as it's not a Mixed Drink, you can usually taste the difference. Especially with clear or soda mixers. Juice mixers are a different story. . .
Personally, I think that all Long Island Iced Teas, LA Water, MoFo drinks, and most juice drinks (Cape Cod, Malibu Pineapple, Bay Breeze) are a little weird for a straight guy to drink, and if not weird, then young. Stick with the classics. : )

First off....no drink with cream in it is manly. White Russians??? Anyway......I'm a big fan of Jim beam and diet....for some reason I find diet makes a better mixer then regular. Try a Rob Roy.....It's a Scotch Manhattan (Scotch and sweet vermouth shaken). One of the advantages to it is that with the mixer you don't taste the scotch as much, so you can get away with a lesser Scotch. As a general rule don't waste your time ordering premium drinks with mixers. Once you have a mixer you can't taste the difference between liquor quality anyway, so don't waste your money. When I bartended I used to laugh my *** off at all of the idiots who'd order premium vodka in things like Cosmos.

Real men don't mix! Liquor on ice or straight up. Maybe have a martini since it is mixed with 2 kinds of booze.
Also try a Manhattan. They look cool and they pack a huge punch

Try a royal flush, but ask for the drink or they will give you a shot, its crown royal, peach schnapps, chambord and cranberry juice. Its my husbands favorite shot, but the drink is good too

Age old answer to an age old question. A good and inexpensive cocktail that doesn't look "sissy" is well vodka and whatever soda or juice sounds good at the time. Pepsi/Coke goes well here in my opinion, but anything will. if you want it to be even more economical, most places will make you a well drink in a pint glass at no extra charge as you're getting more ice mainly, but the drink will last longer.
