Actually, it's kind of good to hear that my dogs aren't the only ones who did this. :)
One dog I had growing up did this, and I imagine because there were other dogs in the house and just one bowl, so she would load up her mouth with food, then move somewhere where she could eat and the other dogs could eat out of the bowl.
The dog I own now will load his mouth full of food and bring it to whatever room I happen to be in. If I am in the living room, he will bring it to the living room, but if I am in the kitchen, he will eat out of his bowl no problem. Once, when I was in the master bedroom upstairs, he brought his food all the way up there to be with me. I don't know what hjs motives really were, but I thought it was sweet.
Anyway, I would say, don't worry about it, unless it bothers you. Just take joy in the quirks dogs bring into life!

There isnt a resonable explination to the behavior, but dogs are intellegent creatures. They also are prone to mental oddity. Some times its a trama that has happened when they were a puppy, sometimes its a fear, but generally all odd behavior comes out of bordom. Your adorable dog, may simply put, is playing with his food. Dogs or wolves in the wild are constantly thinking, calculating and working. House dogs dont have to, therefore they get bored. So neurotic behavior exhibits its self in things like Tail chasing, Chewing, Digging, Scratching, Eating poop,Shredding, Howling, Barking, Pacing, Playing with there food, etc. Some can be very entertaining while others are terribly destructive. Be glad hes just playing with his food!!! Personally I think that is so cute!!! My dogs attack there food like its the last meal they will ever eat!

I do not know why dogs do this, but I use to have a poodle mix dog that did this. She would take food out of her bowl, place it on the floor and then eat bites from the floor. I think she was a really picky dog and wanted to pick certain things out of the food and eat it. Doing this helps seperate the food I guess. Good Luck.

My dog use to do that. There just seeing if the food is ok. Then when its ok he'll eat out of the bowl. Theres nothing to worry about. Also he may not like the bowl you got him cause that was the problem with my dog.

In my homestead, my older canines, Tanner, is my 'hall visual reveal unit'. Any time my different canines are doing something they shouldn't, he has a undeniable 'hoot' sounding bark that announces, "Maaaaa, they are being undesirable!!." it fairly is the only time he makes use of that bark. additionally, in the event that they are enjoying too stressful, he will come working up and get between them and purely stand there like he's breaking issues up. whilst they settle down, he is going returned and lies down. Then, of direction, they start to wrestle returned. He additionally opens my returned gate to the outdoors along with his nostril.

it could be that your dog might not like the food or the bowl. i know my dog likes to play with his food but until he became familiar with us he would do the same thing not all dogs grow out of this. but it seems to be normal.

my puppy does this every time he eats. He takes a mouthful, drops it on the floor, and then eats the pieces off the floor one by one.

I would try a new bowl.... My puppy had a stainless steel bowl and did that, we got hima ceramic bowl and he doesn't do it any more. Maybe the bowl, maybe the dog, who knows... You could always get him a doggie placemat! : ) Good Luck
