There's two within 45 minutes drive time that I can personally recommend: Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ and the Palisades Center Mall in Nyack, NY.

best and largest is in Brooklyn/Queens in Far Rockaway. You're actually still in New York City, unless you mean New York COUNTY. There is a tremendous difference, because all five boroughs (Bronx, Brookly, Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan a/ka/a NY) are ALL located in New York City.

Garden STate Plaza in NJ or Palisdes Mall in NY. I would recommend Garden STate because in NJ you do not pay sales tax on clothing and in NY State you do.
