Do you believe someone called another person a DYKE, because they said they went hunting???? I have hunted with my father before his death most of my life. I bagged many a bird and deer. Our whole family went hunting, fishing and camping. I've married had two natural children and two adopted. I've also have and ex husband and current boyfriend of six years. How rude and sexist can someone be to assume only men or women who are gay can participate in such sports. Also, yes there is a rivalry on here between the "know it alls, the know a little and the know nothings" but, we NEVER allow people to discriminate on race or sexual orientation. Shame on you !!!!!!

I'm talking about hunting with and without dogs.

Dear Greekman, I also reported that person. My point being, reguardless if a person is straight, gay or green with puple stripes that type of name calling is uncalled for. If anyone wants to come out or stay in that is their business and has nothing to do with dogs. It doesnt bother me to see someone say " you are clueless, stupid, a moron and an idiot" those are just terms everyone thinks when they dont agree. But, to think you are being clever or funny degrading an entire group of society. That is sick.

Ha! *gets in line for the outdoorswoman/dyke of the year award*

My "hunting" is limited to helping my father trap nuisance alligators for the state of Florida, but I know how it feels. I think it threatens some people that we're able to fend for ourselves, whether it's putting venison on the table or doing away with dinosaurs. The idea of someone (especially a woman) out "mindlessly killing innocent animals" *chuckles* really turns some people off. "Bambi! Bambi! Poor sweet little Bambi!" go do a search on deer attacks and find out how "sweet" Bambi really is. Or better yet, go meet someone who's had a run in with a buck in rut. You won't think deer are sweet innocent animals anymore. I enjoy going out fishing (not that I have the best of luck, but still) and kayaking and wandering in the woods, but just because I like these things doesn't mean I don't like guys too.

Silly, close-minded homophobes.....

Of course not! Hunting is a hobby enjoyed by many people man and women included. Anyone who calls someone something negative like a "dyke" just because they enjoy an outdoor sport has a problem. Some men like to cook does that make them any less of a man? No! I say that if you find a hobby that you enjoy be it hunting, fishing, gardening what ever do it and enjoy it. Don't listen to what someone else has to say about it people that make comments like that are sexist, ignorant, and rude. People like that are to be ignored. Most people make comments such as that when they feel threatened. Keep on hunting!

I have been hunting with my dad since I was 13, I have been hunting with my husband since we began dating when I was 15. So I guess that in total it would be about 16 years of being a DYKE. Whatever, I think that the main problem with people who syereotype women for doing certain activities just have nothing better to do with there time, If were going to stertype people on there choice in hobbies than I would have to be the granmother of them all. I hunt, fish, drive demolition derby cars, and 3 days ago when mu husband hit a deer with the pickup, I helped him gut it out, hang it up and than I fixed his pickup...new radiator, replaced the broken parts and put in new headlights. So let em base sexual preferenc on what I do every day, If the day ever came that I had to support myself without a man around I think Id fair pretty well.

There are some narrow-minded people in this world. These low-watt brain-dead folks can't grasp the idea of a woman doing something that is stereotypically male, or vice versa. And some men can't handle women doing things that require skill, brain power or guts, so they immediately label them lesbian. Same goes for men who show sensitivity or an interest in things that are traditionally feminine - these lackwits call them gay. Keep being the versatile, feminine woman you are and keep on hunting - and ignore folks who are too dimwitted to accept it. They don't matter.

I can believe it because this is the way people are. I have bi-racial children and the comments that have been made have been very offensive. People think stereo typing is okay and thay also believe there is humor in it. Reporting it was the right thing to do because people need to learn that discrimination will not be tolerated.

NOOOOOO!!!! Ofcourse not!

One of my closest friends (female) hunts bow and arrow every deer season here! Lot's of women hunt and have been for thousands of years!

I can't say I have ever done it myself, tho I'd like to some time! Nothing wrong with it in my book, but then again, I come from a family who has ALWAYS hunted a variety of animals (not only deer).

It could be the flannel shirt you wear! I'M KIDDING! Hunting or sports in general and sexual orientation have nothing to do with one another. Girls/women that appreciate any sport have been judged and misjudged for years. Do what makes you happy. I don't hunt, but if that is what you enjoy, go for it!
Good luck and God bless!

Everyone knows hunting makes you a dyke.
Even if you don't sleep with women, if you hunt, you're a total lesbian.
Fishing is, in fact, tantamount to getting down with the neighbour's wife with a strap-on dildo. Fact.

What a funny question. Tell your homophobe friend that they better start running before you shoot them in the **** with a tranq dart.
