It's got a like 3 or so feathers coming out the top of it's head, it looks like it belongs in a zoo but it's in my backyard, any ideas?

Maybe it is a great Egret. Look at the picture on this page http://duncraft.whatbird.com/obj/30/_/target.aspx and see if that is it.
