Do it as soon as you get it. Don't put it away or file it somewhere or stack it on a desk and forget about it. Just do it now... right now.

I had a sig-other who would wait until the last minute and then copy my work. We broke up because I hated that she never did any work and just mooched off of me or someone else. She didn't graduate. It wasn't that she wasn't smart - she was lazy and would rather watch reruns instead. Now she answers phones during the day and is photographed on the weekends for money. Don't let it happen to you.

Most people can not improve their motivational skills unless they are accountable to another person--somebody they need to report to, even if that other person won't actually make them do anything. It's the fact that you need to admit to another person your own character flaws and bad decisions that helps keep you on track.

So, my suggestion: ask your parents to be your 'accountability factor' or find someone online or a friend. You may even have some homeschooling friends who are finding it difficult, too, and may really appreciate having this sort of 'study buddy'.

Another thing to do is to make specific plans to counteract yourself. That is, if you have 6 weeks to do 3 weeks of work and you set out your schedule to get x amount done each day, figure out a way to make sure you get it done (like putting post-it notes everywhere to remind you or a self-imposed penalty if you don't get it done or a self-imposed small reward if you do get it done).

Keep in mind that you are building your character. What kind of person do you want to be? Every time you make the decision to put it off, you are not choosing to be the person you, deep-down, want to be.

As for all the work due tomorrow--plan out your time wisely. Also consider how things are marked or whatever. Will you get a 0 on an assignment if you don't hand it in? A lower mark? If it'll be a 0, just make sure to get at least a little bit of everything done, although make sure to get done the subjects whose marks matter to you the most.

Move your deadlines up or get a job or some other activity to plan around your school work. Plan your days and evaluate the progress each day. The one semester I got all A's in college was when I had a job with a known schedule so I had no time to goof off.

I have been reading a book on "learning how to learn/study" and
agree that students often put off doing homework or studying mainly because they do not have a methodology or toolset to help them organize HOW they go about studying.

If you are homeschooled ask your parent to recommend books to help you learn how to study. It will serve you well for the rest of your life and make it much easier for you to retain info and help you create interest where there is none.
