Are they too long for her? She may be chewing them because she is uncomfortable

Some dogs do this out of habit, some do it because their nails are too long. Clip her nails, if you dont know how, bring her to a grooming salon. Most will take walk-ins for nail trimming. If you ask, most groomers are more than willing to show you how to do it, so you can keep up with it at home. Dogs nails should generally be trimmed once every month or two, depending on the dog.

I have the same problem i have a little chihuahua that is 2 years old and i clip her nail and she still chews on her back nail's.i don't knw why she does it.i have try to put nail polish on her nail's and she still chewed on them so now i just let her do it .Think about it, it is no more than a human chewing on their nail.GOOD LUCK

Why chewing them hav you not heard of scissors and nail files? If it has become a habit then put sock on.

ya she will do that because they are to long if they click when she walks on the floor they are to long just dont clip them past the pink part on her nail if you do you will know she will cry us baking powder to stop the bleeding or a bar of soap. hope that helped

I have a 2 year old dachshund that does it when his nail get long, he stops when I take them to get them cut, maybe there to long.
