Yep the cotton works, I have done a couple that way myself;

You could go to your gp or tie some cotton round them and they should drop off

If they are out of sight-tie them tightly with cotton. It stops blood flow to them and they eventually die and fall off.

My doctor suggested putting tiny pieces of duct tape over the tags.It takes a few weeks but it does work as I tried it.The cost of having them removed by the doc. has increased greatly and so I appreciated his help with this.
