Freedom isn't free.
Do you actually think war is equivalent to a tea party.

How much is your life worth? How much do you enjoy the freedom you currently have in America?
Why can't people understand that had we not declared war on Iraq, September 11, 2001 would not be an important date other than the date it all started.
The Twin Towers would only be famous as being the first to go, one of many buildings that all suffered the same fate.
Is it the dislike people have for President Bush that clouds the memory of that fateful date engraved into the minds of the victim's families?
Why can't you allow our service people who have lost their lives trying to save your life, the respect, honor, and dignity they really deserve? Why do you constantly seek ways to discount and/or take away the true meaning of their death by saying it is foolish for them to die?
My goodness, is it so difficult to understand what would have happened to America had we sat back and done nothing? Were all those lives lost on September 11, not worth retaliating for and providing the message that we will not allow this to happen again?
Were we suppose to just slap their hand and say, please don't do that anymore because you really hurt a lot of people's feelings with such an act?
Was it also foolish for all the service people who died during World War II and World War I? Had these men who gallantly signed up to serve their country; many of them lying about their age so they could also go and fight for the country they loved and believed in, had there not been the courage and willingness of all these men to give their lives up for their country, there most likely would not have been any Twin Towers to destroy. We would have been under the rule of Hiteler or Stalin or who knows, but one thing we know for sure, America would have lost the freedom that was established with the Constitution, the very rights that allow you speak and say our men our dying without cause.
War is an awful way to settle disputes, but since the beginning of time that is how disputes have been handled. It is really hard to understand why other methods cannot be used as it makes little sense to many of us. We try to teach our children that fighting is not the way to handle disputes, yet that is exactly how it is done by countries with grown adults (or are they?).
Therefore, until a more agreeable method can be achieved, can we at least allow our service people who have lost their life to save your life and mine, the honor and respect they so rightly deserve.
Don't trample on the meaning of their death, for there is no reason, they did exactly what I hope other men and women, although I'm against women doing combat, will always do when our freedom is threatened or the very safety we take for granted will always be there.
Don't let ignorance cloud your judgement or think you know what should or shouldn't be done in the White House.
Iraq was involved with the attack on America.

The war in Iraq is not worth one single american life. What is freedom worth? How many lives was the American revolution worth, how many lives was the US civil war worth? WWII? When people are prepared to kill to oppress one becomes a slave or one fights to be free.
When did the draft start? The US has a volunteer Army. People join the are and are not taken out of their houses and sent to Iraq. The US soldiers in Iraq are adults, that decided to join the Armed Forces and serve there country. Don't you remeber the millions of Iraq's that risked life and limb just to vote for the first times in their lifes. What is there freedom worth?

sorry to sound harsh, but iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks and attacking them was a world class blunder that will shift american foreign policy for a generation to come.
that is unless an honest person gets into the white house.
as close as i can figure, our current policy is determined by the FACT that our current administration can't admit that they made a mistake and that it should, if possible be undone.
the war in iraq is a waste of american lives, fortune and resources at a time when we can scarcely afford to waste anything.
our president and those advising him are criminally negligent and have no hope for victory in iraq AND THEY KNOW THAT NOW.
we have been there long enough, if the iraqis want freedom, it's time for them to fight for it themselves...

inspect it this way, Israel is a chum of the rustic. If it weren't for the rustic in Iraq, united states dealing with Palestinians, united states dealing with terrorism, united states dealing with Arabs purely how long do you think of Israel might exist? " Is Iraq properly worth American lives?" you ask, the respond is " is Iraq properly worth Jewish lives? once you start to confirm the area in this gentle then the complexion of this conflict ameliorations notably. It has continuously been over Israel and the concept that they are purely there for the oil is purely a pawn to disguise the actuality that they are truly there purely for the Jews. now's that misguided? The Jews do need to exist and for the Arabs to decide to entirely annihilate them isn't a thank you to circulate the two. So the international has to verify a existence-style peacefully mutually. Hitler and the countless German human beings did not like the Jews the two yet we see how stressful their way of removing them replace into and that certainly replace into not mind-blowing. the respond might desire to be that the two components might desire to alter so as that they are in a position to co-exist with one yet another in the international. i think of megastar Trek has an analogous project with the Federation attempting to make peace between the differing area buddies who look certain. bent and desperate to kill one yet another off. The Bush administration feels that they are in a position to end it with extra troops yet till the attempt truly gadgets lower back the enemies of Israel i don't think of the rustic would be going too a techniques away. notwithstanding in the event that they try this's going to likely be just to the Persian Gulf or someplace else the place they sit down in enormous destroyers and airplane vendors with all weapons pointed at Iraq, Iran and whoever else Bush thinks will, " deliver it on ".

I would sympathise with conscripts in Iraq, but not volunteers who have calculated the risk in return for the salary.
In answer to your question, that depends how many people are willing to accept the risk!
PS I am against the war but accept that the objectives must be achieved before withdrawal from Iraq.

ITS WORTH WHATEVER IT TAKES TO ACHIEVE VICTORY. IT STILL AMAZES ME HOW MANY FOLKS TRULY BELIEVE THAT NOTHING IS WORTH SACRIFICING YOUR LIFE OVER--EVEN FREEDOM. PEOPLES OF THE WORLD "ALL" DESIRE FREEDOM AND STRONG LEADERSHIP. FREEDOM AND WEAK GOVERNANCE IS NOT GOOD. DICTATORSHIP AND LACK OF FREEDOM IS NOT DESIREABLE. A NEW NATION UNDER FREEDOMS BANNER TAKES SOME TIME TO CONSOLIDATE FACTIONS INTO CENTRAL GOVERNANCE THAT IS RESPECTED AND FOLLOWED BY THE PEOPLE. OLD HABITS DIE HARD AND IRAQ IS NO EXCEPTION ESPECIALLY WITH ITS HISTORY OF CONFLICT BETWEEN RELIGIOUS SECTS. BACK IN THE SEVENTIES I HEARD THE SAME RHETORIC, AS YOU ARE USING, BY THE DEMS TO ELIMINATE THE DRAFT. THE LIBS CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. NOBODY KNOCKS ON YOUR DOOR AND MAKES YOU REPORT FOR DUTY AGAINST YOUR WILL. ITS CALLED BEING A VOLUNTEER. THERE ARE ACTUALLY QUITE A LARGE NUMBER OF FOLKS OUT THERE THAT ENJOY THE MILITARY LIFE AND KNOW THE DANGERS AND REQUIREMENTS OF SERVICE. ITS NOT A BIG SECRET. IN THIS NATION AT THIS TIME THERE ARE A WHOLE HOST OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNGSTERS TO CHOOSE FROM BESIDES THE ARMED SERVICES. AND MANY SURVEYS SUGGEST THAT OUR MILITARY PERSONNEL ARE SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE IN KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES--IN FACT, THE MOST EDUCATED AND SMART MILITARY THAT WE HAVE EVER ASSEMBLED. OFFICERS ARE FOR THE MOST PART COLLEGE EDUCATED AND THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE LACK OF PERSONNEL AT THAT LEVEL. MOST LITTLE RICH KIDS I HAVE KNOWN I WOULDN'T WANT IN MY FOXHOLE ANYWAY. REGULAR GUYS FROM BACK HOME WORKED JUST FINE FOR ME WHILE I WAS IN THE TRENCHES. THE LITTLE RICH KIDS WILL NEVER KNOW THE HONOR OF SERVING WITH GUYS FROM THE SLUMS, THE RESERVATIONS, AND THE FARM FIELDS. RELATIONSHIPS FROM THESE FINE MEN AND WOMEN ARE CHERISHED FOR A LIFETIME. TRUST ME.

Historically, the war in Iraq and Afganistan is worth 450,000 American lives. That's what the U.S. was willing to spend to defeat Germany and Japan.

In 1966 a Senator in Congress called for the withdrawal of all troops from Vietnam. At that time we had 2600 dead in Nam. We lost 58,193 brave Americans. We were in occupation of Viet Nam. WE are now in occupation of Iraq. The draft will come up in the Senate soon, introduced by a Democrat. BTW, can you name one General who died in Nam? Just one. Generals get to "cut and run" in Iraq.

sounds like you've forgotten why we're there. Go to youtube and watch some footage from 9/11 again. It'll remind you why we're there. Iraq has become a haven and a front for the terrorists that we're after to take arms against us. We can't stop and turn around and run away, lest 9/11 happen again.

That is the difference between a liberal and a conservative.
The liberal says, "if we loose x amoung of soldiers, we will surrender".
A conservative says, "we will fight for freedom, until freedom is acheived".
Now, since everyone knows how a liberal feels, including the enemy. The enemy will fight longer than they would otherwise. This is what happened in vietnam, and that is a FACT. That fact was stated by the general of the north vietnam army. If the enemy who defeats you tells you why you lost, YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO THEM.
