I have had temptations to purchase this game but I do not want to do so if it is not acceptable to Jehovah.

Interesting question. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. A 22 year old brother in North Georgia. I sell Video Games and Systems as a hobby. There are several things to consider.

The first place to turn is Jehovah's Word the Bible. Of course the Bible in no way comments or endorces/condemns video games specificly. However we do have guidelines and principles.

The second thing to consider is your concience/gut feeling both before and after consulting the Bible. What does your mind and heart tell you you should do, note not what nessicarily what you Want to do. In conjunction you need to consider how this game will affect your relationship with Jehovah.

The last thing to consider is what impact it will have on others. Remember we would never wish to have our choice stumble someone. This may simply mean not broadcasting your choice one way or the other. Case in point several decades ago a Brother gave a talk about things to avoid and following the Bible. During his talk this brother, who was um not always tactful and advancing in years, mention BaseBall. He said that it was something rather unchristian and to be avoided. He was mostly refering to becoming a pro player and while his intentions were good his reasoning was not completely sound. In the audience was a study of my Mom's. On the studies lap was a little boy who started crying his eyes out as BaseBall was HIS thing at school. My mother explained that what the brother said was not exactly accurate. It is in part for this reason that we are admonished to not force our opinions on others unless they are directly supported by the Bible and even then to show tact.

That said I have made choices over the years for and against various games, movies, TV shows, etctra. Some of these I am proud of. Others I am most certainly not. You are, to varying degrees, responsible to your Jehovah, the government, your parents/legal gaurdians, and Ultimately Yourself. Only you can decide for you.

I personally know some, not much, about the WoW series. I myself would probably not play it. Of course I also like FMA, which is at times, and in ways, questionable. Hope this made sense and helps.

Aahh...I'm assuming that you are studying to become a baptized Witness? The best way to receive answers is certainly NOT here, but from a person...preferably from the Witnesses that you are studying with. They will help you to make your own decisions...based on the bible. No one can tell you what to do or not to do, it's up to your own conscience. However, the Bible does have the principles and guidelines to follow in order to please Jehovah well.

First off, I don't know the video game you speak of...and I'm sure most Witnesses won't know of it, because they have learned from the Bible that it is wrong to engage in war and anything having to do with it...so they wouldn't even give it a second glance. Secondly, beware of video games....they can entrap you to waste your time and get addicted to them and miss out on the most important issue at hand...to praise Jehovah wholeheartedly. You wouldn't want to miss out on Paradise just because you thought video games was more important than serving your loving Creator, would you? I'm sure the many answers given, even though not told outright, will guide you in your personal decision to do what is right.

Congratulations on studying and keep up the good work...keep progressing towards Baptism, you'll be glad you did.

I am one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

No reasonable Witness is going to tell you to buy it or not to buy it. You have to make up your own mind. If you have your Examining the Scriptures Daily book, I would recommend you read the text for January 9, 2007 and make your own decision based on your own conscience.

I am not familiar with this game. What is the point of it? What does it involve? I'm assuming one engages in some type of war. Isaiah 2:4 Saays that those who become a part God's Kingdom would not lift up sword against one another and would not even learn war anymore. On that basis this game would be objectionable.

I use to play the game starcraft but I finally decided it was too violent....it showed some cursing even....Though it is not warcraft it came first....warcraft has a stronger WAR theme and a Magic theme to it....you make the decision with lots of prayer....I stopped after a while due to it's contents but it's a conscience matter.

Each individual Christian must make conscientious personal decisions about what he will or will not do regarding something not addressed directly by Scripture.

It is perhaps relevant that Christianity is unique in that it has no provision for its adherents to engage in warfare. Those ostensible "Christians" who do so ignore the Scriptures and the teachings and example of Jesus Christ himself.

(Matthew 26:52) Jesus said to him: “Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword

(Isaiah 2:4) They will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.

(2 Corinthians 10:3-4) We do not wage warfare according to what we are in the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly

(Luke 6:27-29) I [Jesus] say to you who are listening, Continue to love your enemies, to do good to those hating you, to bless those cursing you, to pray for those who are insulting you. To him that strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also

I don't know what game that is, but by it's title alone, it sounds like it is about war. Most likely it will be violent. "Learn war no more". A good rule of thumb, if it bothers your conscience at all, it's best to not buy it.

Obviously, it is your decision. One that I would advise you give prayerful consideration.

My personal opinion is that I would not purchase it.
