Limewire or any p2p program are known to have viruses disguised as a file that you might want to download.
Sometimes people will hide spyware in the program too. Imesh was known when it first came on the sence to have Spyware(which was installed when you installed imesh).
To understand what I just said you have to know a little about viruses/spyware and how they work....
Also the MPAA(I think thats their name) are sometimes monitoring downloads to try and catch somone to sue. Their law suits are not cheap either like sometimes 15 to 20 grand(but thats only if they get lucky and can get a search warrant against your ISP. Otherwise they can't get your Name and Real Address.)

The only illegal downloads you will get from Limewire are programs like Windows XP, or software, all of which are pirated, and may contain viruses. You download those at your own risk. For music and videos, there is nothing illegal about Limewire's downloads. I've used Limewire for several years, never gotten a virus and don't have any trouble with downloading.

I have used Limewire in the past and it was good. Upgrade if you want it to perform better. It is basically a peer to peer program that lets you download "stuff" from other peoples computers.
You have a shared folder on your hard drive after installing Limewire and this is where people will have access to. Whatever files you have in there other will be able to download and vice versa.
You could search for other "Torrents" in Google. There loads out there.

I don't know anything about the program as I have no desire to be participating in illegal downloads. Another thing that limewire is known for is all of the stuff with virus' on their system. Many people think it's funny to share virus' with others.

I've used it and have not run into any virus problems .... yet .... but I do have up-to-date virus scanners and a firewall. Plus just to be extra secure, I have an old computer that I use for anything considered "dangerous" on the internet. That way if everything gets wiped out, I'm not losing much besides some of my time to reinstall the software.

Limewire is a peer to peer sharing program. It let´s you share your files with other people on the network, and vice versa. It´s what people share and the use they give to what they downloaded that can make it illegal (the shared media...). Ever borrowed or lend a cd to a friend?

I tried Limewire about six months ago and didn't like it; I thought the search was slow and badly written, and the interface in general was a bit clunky. The network didn't contain much of what I was looking for at the time (freely released indie music). Most of my searches only turned up porn and pop (and probably trojans posing as one or the other).
I prefer bit torrents now, with BitLord as my client, and the web as my search engine.

when i test out Limewire i put in a search for windows xp up come many files saying full version of windows xp they was iso file to burn on cd . now when i click on 1 of them to download my antivirus blocked the download to tell me the file had virus and trojan in it and that was before i even had the file on pc i search the file just as i try to download it so this tells you one thing Limewire stop away from
if you dont then say good by to your computer

hmm my vote is 50 50 bcaz its good but like for the past 2 year its getting messed up like when u download a new movie there is a 40% chance it to be porn or another movie. but its till got alot of stuff inside and its fast.
