Hi all
I also have taken Ambien (10mg) for about 4 years now. The stories I could tell you (and also my family could tell you)!!!! It used to take minutes to make me absolutely stoned and now it takes sometimes an hour to kick in. I cannot take my Ambien and go to bed because I just toss and turn and so I fall asleep on the couch every night and then when I wake up in the middle of the night I get up and go to bed and then I can usually fall back asleep within a few minutes. If I go to the computer or watch something on TV then I am awake for the rest of the night. If my son is still up watching TV and he stops me to talk I have to tell him that I can't or that will be the end of my sleep, I have to go straight from the couch to my bed. I have been doing this for years. I went to a sleep clinic years ago to have a sleep study done and they told me that I didn't need one done that if the Ambien works then I can take it for the rest of my life that it wouldn't hurt me. That didn't make sense to me but my family doctor keeps on refilling it so I don't argue. I know my family does not like me taking it but if it gets me through this then I don't care what anyone thinks. They are not living daily with "fibromyalgia" and "insomnia" and chronic myofasical pain!!!! One of my major complaints on Ambien is that when it starts to kick in (because I am watching TV not in bed) is that I get the munchies big time and I need for my family to lock the cupboards because I eat all kinds of goodies!!!! I used to fall asleep with food in my mouth and wake up covered in chocolate or have a mouth full of peanuts or chips or whatever I was snacking on!!! I am surprised that I haven't choked to death. At times my family really worries about me so I am very careful now to try not to start eating after I take my sleeping pill. The stories I could tell you (actually a lot of funny ones)!!!!

I took Ambien for a while for fibromyalgia. I did several things that were funny and some that were downright stupid and dangerous. Once I made cookies and cleaned out my closet while zoned out on Ambien. I didn't even know about it until the next day when I asked who had done it. Once I drove to my job, opened the office and took a bunch of paintings and furniture home to my house. I locked the place up neatly and just drove home. The next day I woke up and all of the pilfered stuff was in my living room! Once I painted my face with nail polish and woke up to find it slopped all over the bed (and me). Once I shaved off all of my pubic hair and eyebrows while on Ambien!
Needless to say, I stopped taking it because I had so many incidents like that. I mean, it works well, but geez, the things you do while zoned out. Scary!

Lighten up Stefani...
Although I agree with you, medication is not "Funny." I don't think that she meant any harm and has specific intentions and a story that does not inolve drug abuse.
Lots of people react that way on that medication hon... Don't let it get to you. Sensitive people cause sensitive reactions... But it is dangerous, as it doesn't always end at just eating cake. If you know you react that way, I suggest you try lunesta instead or maybe even melatonin at 3mg. You should get the rest you need.

usually doing things you dont remember is very dangerous. I dont think ambien is funny because my mother took to much drove around and got a DUI ticket. She had to wear a ankle thing so the police would know she wasnt driving so I dont think there is anything funny about drugs that make you not know whats going on. sorry.
