"I'm going to stab you" is not harassment, it is a threat. It is illegal for a person to threaten the life of another, no matter what the reason. Encourage your friend to tell the principal of your school or to call the police about it. Jess can be warned (or charged) by the police for this. If your friend doesn't want to tell, you should consider telling the principal yourself so he/she can have a chat with your friend in private about the issue.

if someone is threatening physical violence against someone else, that is technically assault and far too much of this goes on in american schools as it is.

if you know for a fact that this has happened, and can give a time and location of when it happened, you can make the report yourself.

make a courtesy call at the school's administration and just let them know that you are on your way to the police with this threat of violence.

after the high profile high school killings, threatening someone's life (repeatedly) is no laughing matter.

that girl crossed the line when she started talking about stabbing anyone and in a way, the first time she did that, it was out of your hands and should now be handled by the proper authorities...

Yes, go to your principal in school and inform them what is going on and tell them you would like to be anonymous. Also, inform Amber that she can go to the local court house and obtain a restraining order or order of protection to keep Jess away from her.

She was probably just blowing off steam but it is a threat. Does your school have a zero tolerance violence policy? Most likely you school administrators have adopted a zero tolerance policy because they are panzy neo-libs and cannot deal with things on a case to case basis. If you report, she might get kicked out of school and have the stigma the rest of her life. Then again, she might act on her threat.

So, it is up to you. Whatever happens, it is not your fault your school administrators are spineless freaks.

Good luck!

If she's threatening her life, then maybe you should report her...or you could let Amber decide what she thinks is best. You reporting the other girl behind your friend's back may create more problems for your friend. Talk to your friend, and help her figure out what the best thing is to do.

You can't do anything !! Amber needs to if she wants to. What you should do is stay out of it and advise Amber to make a report if she feels the need to.

Amber should speak to school officals, and her parents. Threats like that are taken very serious. I belive the school or the parents will contact the local pd.

Yeah, She is threatening to do bodily harm. The police however probably won't do much because it sounds like your all in High school. So I would go straight to the principle and tell him/her. Most schools have zero tolerance policies and you could get her suspended or expelled from your school.

It is Amber's business. Let her report the threat if she wants to.
