Check the other questions on this site and you will see what a scam it is. There are a lot of people that won also. Just how many million dollar winners can there be.This is a Nigeria scam. Yahoo/MSN, U.K. and Australian lotteries, football lotteries from the same counties, Global-Link, World Poverty, Microsoft, Free Lotto, which now seems to have it's own people answering gambling questions on this site claiming they have won which is a total lie, and hundreds more. I am a retired Police Officer that has years of experience investigating Internet scams and frauds. This is an old one. The common link to them getting your email is on line surveys. Yahoo does not give it's stock holders money away nor does it give it's email subscribers address's to lotteries. The only way to win in a lottery is to buy a ticket, if you didn't you could not possibly win. Here is the website of the 17 nation law enforcement task force that investigates cross border Internet crime. You may file a complaint there. www.econsumer.gov. Also go to www.ripoffreport.com and browse complaints and you will find many having the same doubts as yourself about these scams. Below is a typical scam and how they work it. They just go under a thousand different names. They are asking you to send a prepayment to collect your winnings and they want you to send it by a money wire service. Lotteries do not just pick your name out of thin air, and just so happen to have your email also. No Internet service provider gives their email list out to lotteries. If you did not pay to play you could not possibly win.

Dump the letter, I have had an American firm with a UK address trying to inform me I have won £20,000-00. At a guess at the rate of 3 letters each week. All I have to do to validate the claim is to buy some piece of crap jewellery for £20-00 and send in the correct number. The wording in the letter appears to say I have the correct number but read it carefully or you are tempted to be so happy about your good luck you miss read the wording. I send all the envelopes back without a stamp.

IT A CON,,, the people who run lottery's do not contact you to tell you you have won,,you have to check whatever ticket you have got to find out if you have won,,
The scam is ,,they will ask you to send them some money to cover some government tax redemption
If you play the lottery and win you do not have to pay anyone anyhting the prize is yours as and when you claim it
In some country's you have to pay a tax on what you have in the bank after its been calculated

If you had won the UK lottery you would have to have
(a) bought a ticket and
(b) checked that ticket to see if you had won...
nobody else knows your numbers and so cannot tell you that you have won.. you have to find out for yourself...
.. must be a scam... don't give out personal details and don't ring the 0900 numbers that they give for you to call... will only cost you a lot of money in the long run..

It's both a fake and a fraud. Spam that message into the trash and forget about the whole thing. You don't win anything from that "bogus" lottery.

unless you know for a fact that you have entered this lotto then it is a scam....i had one of these the other day and basically they want all of your personal details and then money off you so they can "supposedly" credit your account.
Bin it and forget it
