A US gallon is 83.267% of the British gallon. In more usable figures, the British gallon is about a fifth greater than the US gallon, and the US gallon is about 5/6 of the British gallon (or a little under 7 British pints)

Bear in mind the US Gallon is not the same amount as a Gallon in the UK.
A UK Gallon equals 1.2009 US Gallons.
Good heavens, USA Gallons are smaller than ours!
One up for the Brits.

Paying $2.19 for Exxon premium in Houston, TX.
Last week in N. California, I paid $2.52 for Shell cheapest (rental car!)
Hope this helps - I know it's a whole lot cheaper than UK petrol prices - 99pence per litre works out to about $9/gallon with the exchange rate the way it is - OUCH!!! But then I got 575mp tank from the rental car I had in the UK in December instead of the 330mp tank I get from my car in TX so it's not quite as bad as it seems!

I would think a gallon of fuel would be the same 4 quarts no matter were you are. If you are asking price per gallon it is $2.18 in Idaho Falls,ID.

Depends on where you are asking. In many of the big cities such as Los Angeles or San Francisco, gas costs more since the cost of living there is higher. Here in Cincinnati where I live, I filled up last night at $1.89/gallon.

Nobody gets 575 or 330 miles per gallon, maybe 57.5 or 33.0., or per tankful.
