First off with Sodom and Gomorrah, those cities were destroyed not because they were breaking law, but because they were worshipping false idols, and already breaking law set by the church at that time. I do love my God, I hate the sin, and love the sinner who wants to better his life. God condemns, that is true, God forgives, that is also true. Take a child molestor, if he lives his live doing nothing but that, feeling no remorse whatsoever for his actions, then he will be condemned to hell, as he should be. However, if he realizes the error in his ways, confesses his sins, and accepts the Lord and lives his life as a Christian, he will be forgiven by God. Perhaps not by man.

Your example was before there was every Christianity. Your question should have been directed to the Jews not Christians. In addition every single time, God did warn people to what will happen if they didn't change their ways. Every time. For example, Noah. If God didn't warn them, Noah and his family wouldn't have the time to build that boat. Would they. Sodom and Gomorrah. God asked Lot to find at least 50, and the negotiation went on to at least one person who is righteous and he wouldn't do what happens.
Also, the Christians are not the only people who believe that. Jews, Christians and Muslims believe that as well.

To be fair there were years of warnings leading to the flood. Also, Sodom and Gomorrah were given warnings and only a very few people needed to comply...and still didn't.

At the time of the Flood, there were three laws that were very well-established and widely taught:
1) don't kill other humans. (taught within the Cain/Abel narrative).
2) one man + one woman = marriage (refer to the Genesis narrative of Eve's creation); man + man or woman + woman doesn't fit into God's plan.
3) God is the creator of the universe and everything in it; He deserves worship and respect. (again, refer to Genesis.)
If you carefully read the Biblical description of society in Noah's day, you will see they were described as being blatently immoral, violating all three laws; it is certain the Sodomites also violated laws # 2 and 3. On that basis, God decided that "all flesh" except Noah and his family must be destroyed; and that Sodom and Gommorah must be destroyed after Lot and his family fled.
So as you can see, it's not as if God held these laws secret. All society knew what God expected, yet they willfully ignored His laws.

So everyone thta died in those, and other God killing events broke "the rules." So there were no children, or were the children butt humping sinners too. And when did God put out a set of rules before Noah's ark that the whole world could hear? Face facts God killed more innocent people in the O.T. then Hitler in WWII. This is your God, this is your Bible, this is your history, and you should be ashamed of trying to defend it.

To be perfectly honest...if it were not for Jesus and the love that he taught, Christianity would not exist. Yes, Christians worship the same God, but they do it through the forgiveness of Jesus Christ... Because of that forgiveness we do not have to worry about being smote from the earth.
It is only the Jewish Religion whom loved the God of the Old Testament and had to strive for utter perfection.

Actually, God gave those places a chance to redeem themselves. Noah's ark wasn't built in a day, and he tried to warn those around him. They didn't listen. God's angels entered Sodom to find good people to give it a chance and they couldn't find enough (I think the number was like five) to save the towns. God didn't just say, "Man, what a waste. Oh, well, destroy! Bwahahaha!"
God did give man a chance to save himself, and man refused.

Loving anyone isn't always easy all of the time. Theres disappointment, hurt. But the joy and fulfillment is so overwhelming that it makes those things obsolete. I cant even start to fathom why God does what he does, but I have found him to be faithful, and trustworthy.
