How many times a week do you think you get...
1. An atheist insulting you or what you believe
2. Put down and told you are unintelligent
3. Told you beliefs are baseless and a myth

Bad Liberal...on the politics forum we would be agreeing with each other. I do not make comments about fossils or any of those other things. SW

Believers who responded...good job, I like the scriptures you chose and your over attitude.

Digby - You obviously are not familiar with my posts. I never preach, even in person. And I consider the Religion and Spiritualality question forum as a natural place for me to come to discuss Religion and Spirituality. I work hard outside this forum to teach religious tolerance. I only asked this question following the same basic question being asked of the atheist by some other participant.

Chris - I am here everyday..my research tells me that this is precisely what the atheist do though I have no clue WHY.

For the record, I do know atheists in person and some of them are the best people you could ask for, and some are not.

Rune - see the last two additions. I did not ask this question about myself, I asked it about all believers feelings here and it IS addressed to Christians. For the record, believer or not, I am very impressed with the attitude of the believers in the face of constant harrassment.

Jane - I have no problem with anyone's beliefs and like you I am very confident of my own and all the insults and put downs in the world will not change it. I also know I am extremely intelligent. It was you that took the question personally, not I.

Wow, I am impressed. I do not mind the comments made in the open, but I have had some bad, bad remarks emailed to me that I think are uncalled for.

As I see it, this question alone is a microcosm of the forum as a whole. The atheists say the Christians put them down and make insults, yet you see very few here. The Christians realize there are a lot of put downs, but choose to ignore them.

I think it would do all of us well to remember, these questions and answers are not personal and all of us have a choice as to what we want to believe. I don't really think anyone is going to be "saved" from belief or unbelief, whatever side of the road you are on, here on Yahoo Answers. MORNING GLORIA

O wow this happens to me all the time. I go to a high school and people alwasy insult my religion or try to put me down. I have also been insulted for being "unintelligent" for not believing some things that atheist believe. Sometimes people of my own religion have different beliefs also especially in high school, which i think is the worst

1. Never in real life. I don't know of any Atheists outside of this forum.

2. Lol, this one is funny. I love it when the 15 year old High school student says I'm unintelligent.

3. Everyday on YA. But that's to be expected. The bible says it will be like this.

Hey recollect that point I attempted to avoid wasting a pigeon with a damaged wing? A avenue cat received him through morning and I needed to bury portions of his frame in my constructing’s playground... You get like a zillion stars for referencing that music. :D:D Hahahaha, no particularly, you simply made my whole week. :p To reply your query, sure, there used to be a time while I might best learn unique books. Of direction, it used to be Harry Potter:p I went via a segment wherein all I did used to be reread the ones books over and over while I used to be approximately twelve. Finally I learned the life of different works of literature! And I've additionally had levels wherein I did not believe like studying any books in any respect, so the backs of cereal bins have been usually a huge factor with me. Personally, I particularly like Honeycomb and Cinnamon Toast Crunch bins. They constantly have well phrase searches, and the final Honeycomb field I ate from had a Sodoku (sp?) puzzle at the again which I had a best time fixing considering the fact that it used to be handy! I like handy Sodoku puzzles, considering the fact that they make me believe sensible while I can truthfully clear up them. And I'm certain that as time progresses, and my style in literature expands or turns into extra refined, there usually will come a time while I will best learn Shakespeare! Oh, to not point out there used to be a time I might best learn Regina Spektor lyrics:p I went to google and appeared up the lyrics to each Regina music I would feel of and simply learn them via and analysed them. Such poetry! :p Edit: Oops, I forgot the BQ! Okay, allow me feel... Do you ever placed ketchup or mustard to your hamburger, sizzling-puppy, fries, or something else for that subject?

I know the atheists just asked the same basic questions, so thank you for pointing out this is not just about them, but all of us.

The difference is, if we are true Christians, we forgive 7x70 and more.

I wish I could pretend it does not anger me, but sometimes people go too far. I would welcome an intelligent debate but
often its just juvenile insults and not worth getting into. I think that is a shame when we have been given this opportunity to exchange questions and answers. cal

Well, it probably wouldn't happen if so many so-called Christians on these forums didn't insult me and what I believe in, put me down as unintelligent for not believing the same thing they do etc. etc.

You may think it started with atheists insulting you, but as far as my research has shown me, it's always been the so-called Christians that started it. I say so-called Christians, because I have never, ever, once seen a Christian in real life act the despicable way some do on these forums.

Well...I won't allow anyone to put down my beliefs. I know what I believe is right for me & it's just too bad if people don't like it.
Last time I looked, I live in the USA where freedom of religion is part of our Constitution.
You believe what you want & I believe what I want. I won't criticize you & you can criticize me if you want to, but it doesn't change the way I believe.

I don't know really because it is not and never was something important enough to keep a record of or even to remember. Most weeks it does not happen at all, probably because most of the non-Christian people I know personally are intelligent and respectful and probably also because I do not mess with others about their beliefs either.

In person, never, on yahoo several times a day in a generalized statement, never directly to me
Just as I have never told an atheist/agnostic/or anyone else that they were wrong for believe in what they believe in, that they aren't using all of their potential etc.

If you receive these comments, then you should keep your own beleifs to yourself or in a safe forum away from non-beleivers. don't try spreading the word to those who dont want to hear it.
I'm not a christian, I have my own beleifs but I hold nothing against you for yours. I think atheists just get very offended and annoyed when they get someone starts preaching at them and judging them. So to help the problem you could tell the others in your group to stop trying to convert those who wish not to hear it.
But if your so concernd about "saving" others the expect alot of negative responses.
