to the affirmative. You said you wanted religion in our laws, how do you feel about the antipodal option?

I don't want laws governing anybody's religion, and I'm an atheist. When you start mixing religion and government, you get a theocracy. Theocracies tend to make silly laws that are based on superstition. However, I also would not want a government where atheism is enforced. Atheists tend to promote free thought. They are in favor of a free market of ideas where the strongest ideas flourish and bad ones fade away. We need a mix of people to ensure that we don't stagnate. That's why it's good that we frequently change leaders.

Absolutely not. The only good law governing religious practice is the 1st amendment to the U.S. Constitution guaranteeing freedom religion

I was surprised that I did not get a lot of answers comparing my question to the laws against murder. I thought I covered that with the morals sentence but evidently it was over the head of one lady. I guess she lacks common sense, agreed?

There are already many laws governing religion - you can't murder someone in the name of religion, for example.
