Why wouldnt you look into making him legal? Are you planning on going to his native country? You are helping someone break the law and you just advertised it. You are contributing to the evergrowing problem in this country. I don't mean you any ill harm...but common. Do things the right way. Help him become legal or go to his country. Period.

Congratulations on your marriage. However, just because you marry him doesn't mean he won't get deported back to his country if he is illegal. Going to city hall and getting married and his legal status are two entirely different things. Your city hall won't have a problem marrying you two, but good luck when it comes to him getting a legal job. I would suggest the both of you go and speak to an immigration lawyer. If he entered this country illegally, it will be basically impossible for him to become a legal citizen unless he goes back to his country of origin and reapply for a visa, and that will take many years. I'm sorry I don't have better news but I wish you both luck.

Good luck, its not as easy as it sounds. And when you said, your not trying to make him legal, you have to if you want him to stay here with you. You can get married on either side, but either way, if he is here illegally, he will have to return to his country and wait out the process. There will be background checks and this could take some time, but he needs to "stay" in his country until the process is done. This shows that he has every desire to do things legally and will have to show proof of his status and residency in his country during this process. So you can either go with him and wait it out, or stay here without him, and hope he does not find someone else. I am not trying to discourage you, if you love him, then you love him, but there is a legal process and you both need to honor it and go by it. Good Luck..........

Then marry him, once you are married he will be able to apply for a green card. You can always be married by the Justice of the Peace right there at the court house. Then afterward, have a real nice wedding with family and friends.
Good Luck and Congratulations

You have to provide the state with legal documents before you get married and obtain a marriage license. He has none, so I don't think your marriage will be legal unless he does.

Does he have a ITIN? (individual taxpayer identification number) You can get a license with it. This however will not make him legal. Not that you care just so you know.

You can marry a foreigner, so I don't see why you can't marry an illegal.
I think it is a truly bad idea, though. Think of what you are setting your new family up for, particularly if you have children.
