I do. However, I won't get mad if someone opts not to shake hands because he/she is wearing gloves. A simple verbal greeting is enough for me.

No, leave them on. People actually prefer it this time of year because cold and flu season is running amok. Keeping the gloves on avoids the spread of germs, yet allows you to exchange pleasantries all the same.
