I think it depends. Nobody knows my religious affiliation, and as a contractor I work around hundreds of different people every month. So far, no one has tried to convert me. I get the impression that many persecuted atheists are still in close connection with their religious family and friends, and have made their atheism perfectly clear. That would certainly draw some conversion attempts. I am not an atheist, but if I had announced that I was an atheist at the age of 18 - 20, I would have encountered all kinds of trouble. At the age of 33, I could become an atheist now, and I doubt that anyone would ever even know or care, let alone try to convert me.
As for Y!A, I wouldn't even count that. This is the religion and spirituality section. If you come on here and announce that you are an atheist and ask questions meant to provoke responses from Christians, then of course you will encounter conversion attempts. You might as well walk into the middle of a Baptist Church on Sunday morning and ask the same questions.

1. Not as often as I used to, since moving to New England. The religious community up here is refreshingly low-key. Most folks up here keep their beliefs private, and most distrust garish displays of faith. I wish the rest of the country would be so courteous.
2. In the past, I have had religionists get red-faced, strident, start foaming at the mouth and ask me how I could "dare to be an atheist" (their exact words). Again, this hasn't happened since the move to New England.
3. Not for a long time, but I always told whoever said that I would save them a seat and even provide the marshmallows.

Not an atheist but not religious either.
I am here frequently so I see people trying to convert, or corrupt as the case may be, everyday!
I see all people who are not bible thumpers being taunted and put down.
I have been told that I am going to hell many times. I know it is not true so I just laugh.

1) Here? Every hour. Real life? Hardly ever.
2) Here? Lots. Real life? Hardly ever laughed at, but state laws make it so I can't run for office - I think that legally qualifies as persecution.
3) Here? All the time. Real life? Never seriously.

I don't talk about religion or the concept of god in public. I only have discussions about those topics with my friends. So the only time that I deal with it is on Y!A. I do notice that Yahoo has stepped up on censuring of the "going to hell" stuff. I guess a lot more people are reporting it.

1. About once a week. From different people
2. Not that often. I usually am pretty good at debate and the people who know have to lean on faith and faith alone to prove their points. It is hard to laugh at a guy who just spanked your butt at a debate.
3. Only Yahoo answers, ten to 15 times per hour. In life, not once.

In college we had those christian preachers who would set up in the middle of campus and shout at people...so it was normally like 5 days a week.

Here? All the time.
In the real world? Very rarely. Especially #1. I just point out the MANY contradictions, lies and just plain stupid crap in their 'wholly babble' and they run with their tail between their legs...
