Vik - I don't think following only the 10 commandments is the complete criteria for going to heaven. Jesus tells us that it is the meek, the humble, the pure of heart that will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. I take that to include the innocents of the world. SW

Nobody follows the 10 commandments. It is a strict list meant to be not followed, so the converts can be made to feel guilty for not being able to do so. That way, the church can make itself seem more needed. It's emotional manipulation.

Other than the commandments that collectively can be stated as, "Be decent to other people", they really aren't worth following. There are no gods, so the first three are idiotic. The rest are heavily caveated by people so they can sort of follow them. There are just too many situations where killing and lying, for example, is warranted.

In the US, despite all the rants by Christians that this is a Christian nation founded on the 10 commandments, very few of the commandments have made it into our laws, and even when they do, it is only in certain circumstances when they're enforced.

You are already in heaven.

The Christ as well as Budha, which was a couple thousand years before Christ, and the teachers before Budha, all pointed to the truth that Heaven Is At Hand.

Quoting Christ - "Behold Heaven Is At Hand".

Why humans do not understand this, is something I cannot comprehend, other than realizing they are told otherwise by religious leaders.

We are spritual beings having a human and physical experience, which we chose.

In this physical world we can (touch things, smell things, taste things, hear things and see "Things".

After this physical experience we return to our spiritual essence.
There we "Feel" (Inside) things, but not with the senses that we have here in our physical experience.

The life you are experiencing is a "direct reflection" (reflecting back to you) what is going on inside you, your thoughts and feelings toward others and the life around you. Let me give you an example;

If you walk up to someone with anger, or resentment or ill feelings toward them and start verbally expressing those feelings, how do they respond? Do they not respond negatively in some fashion?

If you walk up to someone who you really want to talk to, that you miss or whatever, do they not respond to you in kind?

Humans are shown the truth in each moment of their life, but their (egoic mind) judges, controls, manipulates, etc., etc., the truth within the experience of the moment.

Nothing really exists outside of the moment. Your past and your illusionary and created future does not really exist for you.

If in doubt, predict some future event. Then HONESTLY, very honestly decide, did it turn out the way I thought?

The past is easy. Is it there? Can you change It? The answer is obvious, is it not?

Do not be concerned with these "10 Commandments". You already know what is right and what is wrong, and not because of what you were taught.

Many first time hunters, have reported that after they actually killed an animal, they felt uneasy, and chose never to do it again, even though everything they were taught, says it was ok.

Ever harmed an animal or another human? What did you feel like afterwards, even though someone did not scold you?

Here are the true commandments, and they are not commandments, they are just instructions on your way back home, whenever you choose to go....

DO NOT HARM, yourself, other humans, animals or nature, and then just notice, BECOME AWARE of how your life, the people around you and the events in your life (those moments unfold) take place.

Humans believe that life is an ongoing and continuous series of events, when the truth is that each event is a new event, and that all life takes place in the very moment it occurs.

Research the atom, and the most recent findings regarding matter.

The smallest particle used to be the atom. But they have since found a particle within the atom. Actually they are already down to 4 particles below the atom, BUT

Have discovered that the smallest particle is not a mass. It is a substance which is THERE AND THEN NOT THERE.

I am not aware of your age, but a MOVIE is a series of Single Images, (photographs) presented one following the other in a rapid pattern. These images move so quickly that our senses can not see them individually, therefor we interprets them as one continuous motion. ALIVE and moving, sort of speak.

Life is the same. One event, one moment, going off and on just as science now knows. And the events you call life are happening within you and you are projecting them "Out There" based on what is going on inside you.

If all this sounds like mumbo jumbo, that is ok, just try the true commandments, and just see what happens. These are really not commandments, as you have free will.

If you want a more peaceful life, and a heaven like experience, try, just try.

Do not accept or reject what I am saying, just try it for yourself, and then YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT EXISTENCE.

Your life WILL CHANGE, and your existence THAT YOU EXPERIENCE WILL CHANGE, even the news you watch on TV will change.

That thing (God, The Creator) etc/. etc., is you. Yes, this guy is crazy.

Try it, and then YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH, instead of just believing what you have been taught.

Remember that the Bible is the "living" word, meaning that we can choose to follow to the letter what it seems to say, or we can allow it to guide us in what is right and wrong for our spiritual well-being.
Also, the ten commandments appears in the Old Testament, in which God regularly smites those acting against his will. The New Testament gives us Jesus Christ whom died so that we can go to heaven even if we did not follow the commandments perfectly.
In short, even if God had intended "special" people and animals to be excluded from heaven (which I dont believe), the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross is what allows them, as well as ourselves to be blameless when we get to Heaven's Gate.

"And the lame will run free"
forget the verses, but it was mentioned numbers of times.
As for your dear little dog [holds breath]:
"And the wicked will be thrown on the other side and enter Gehena, where the dogs will rip them apart".
"the dogs will drink the you spill"
and a lot of unclean animals are pets you have, like doggies, kitties, piggies, lizards, penguins, etc. which will all rot in Hell because they are that.
Worship the Bible now, because the 10 Commandements won't solely get you to heaven. BELIEVE in Christ.
"If it were good deeds that got one into heaven, Jesus would have died in vain"
Looks like 10% of people I know will go to hell. Don't you just love the Bible now?
Ps, you can be a % C swindler, robber, -machine, and all that stuff all your life and get into heaven by repenting at the end! Isn't that grand? Now you can laugh at a lot of Africans who live in poverty and deal with AIDS every day with pride!
Don't forget to worship the Bible now!

Animals have no soul, they simply return to dust after they die. As far as handicapped people are concerned, it involves they type of handicap they have. If a person is too mentally handicapped to comprehend God and such things, I'm almost certain that they would go to Heaven.

You can't even put animals in that catagory at all. God has His plan for them.

Anyone who accepts Jesus as there personal Savior shall go to heaven. Children under the age of accountibility,(those who do not know right from wrong, and what a sin is), as well as the mentally handicapped shall go to heaven.

Those phsyically handicapped are capable of comitting sin so they must accept Jesus as their personal Savior.

Following the ten commandements "only" and not accepting Jesus as your personal Savior will not get you into heaven.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

And how this is achieved is...

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

This is what is being born again. Why?

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

The only way you are going to lean these things is if you study the Bible the way God intended you to do.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Religious People often say that people with mental retardation/developmental disabilities are "God's special children" and as such "receive everlasting life" automatically and without "judgment." Animals, people say, go to rainbow bridge. A place like heaven for animals. They are relieved of old age, disease, and illnesses once there.

Handicapped people are restored to perfection and Animals go on the grill.
Unless the animals happen to be pigs because God hates pigs for some reason even though he created them.
