RE:
Are there any Bank of America locations or ATMs in Honolulu?
Or maybe, an affiliated bank that doesn't charge fees?

Like the previous answer I recommend not carrying a lot of cash. That's just general good advice. I'd suggest taking a check card (atm card with a visa or mastercard logo that can be used like a credit card) as well as a credit card or two. You might want to see if your hotel has a safe and keep at least 1 card in the safe at all times just in case one of your cards are lost/stolen. Check cards give you the option of getting cash from an atm when you need it rather than just having loads of cash on your person all the time. Traveller's checks are a great idea IF you know how to use them. You'll need to write down all the check numbers (not a problem since they're sequential) and keep that somewhere safe (like in the hotel safe if you have it and seperate), maybe even leaving a copy with someone at home that can fax/email/read it to you. Should the tchecks be lost/stolen you'll need those numbers to claim new ones. In the Waikiki area and most other areas, they accept tchecks like cash. And almost every where takes visa/master.

There is no Bank of America, here in Hawaii. We have The First Hawaiian Bank, The Bank of Hawaii, and there are atm's everywhere. When I used to come here before I moved here, I used travelers checks, as they are excepted everywhere. The best way to go is just use your credit card, and do not pack a lot of cash with you, so you do not have to worry about theft.Enjoy Hawaii, Aloha........

If you're not already there plan on taking tons of cash with you... I was just on Maui a few months ago and stuff is more expensive than the mainland, but none of the ATM's would give me more than 200bucks at a time.
