Because I took this test on a rustworthy site on OCD and it says I probably should see a doctor, but I don't want to go to a doctor and be wrong about ir cuz it can be kind of weird.

I have had OCD for years. I manage it on my own using an inner dialog and by basically talking myself out of certain detrimental ticks that I have had that cause me discomfort or inconvenience like morbid thoughts that repeat.

I tap things
Count things
Double and triple check everything, especially anything mechanical or having to do with math or money.

It can get away from me sometimes when I get stressed. But I have learned to control it WITHOUT MEDICATION! and you would NEVER know I had anything wrong with me looking in from the outside unless you knew me and knew I had it and exactly what I was doing. Most of it takes place in my head now and I do not act out and display it.

I manage it and live with it and have learned to leave alone the ticks that are beneficial to me and weed out the damaging ones by intentional and deliberate work that I mindfully do concerning it.

I went the whole Doctor route... They are pretty much useless until you actually want to get better but when you decide you want it, you don't need them or their medication anyway.

I consider it like a record where the needle that produces the sound is stuck in a scratch, in a groove that it can't get out of on it's own. Sometimes you have to bump your own turntable and get yourself out of it! Use some scratch repair and hope for the best!

TRUST ME: Better to go to the doctor and explain how you feel than to try to self-diagnose. You may have some symptoms and you should talk to your doctor about it. OCD can get worse with time, so if you go now you will be much better off. It would be much better to be wrong, even if it is "weird", than to be right about having OCD. It can be a pain. Talk to your doctor.

When it causes you to be disfunsional in your everyday life, I have OCD, and that is the best way i can tell you, and it also is an irrational thought, that drives you to do what you have to to stop it or get relief from it.
