No. Not here or anywhere else that so many different ideas and different types of people can be in the same space at the same time. Not everyone here is seeking common ground. In fact some people are actually intentionally seeking conflict and purposely offending others.

There can be a lot of common ground, except on whether gods exist. That's the only inherent difference between atheists and people who believe in religious superstitions.
Most people, from the most ardent atheist to the most wacked out zealot, have more beliefs in common than different. We're all human and have similar life experiences. We just differ on whether any gods exist.
Of course, this forum is specifically for discussing religious issues, so it tends to highlight, more, the differences between atheists and theists (of various types).

No...since religion is somethin that da world has been fighting/debating over from the start of human existance. This is because ven it comes to God evrybody has their own strong beliefs and faiths, so u c no one is willing 2 compromise.
But i do hope ppl can learn to respect each other cuz whether v r christian, muslim, jew, atheist or from any other religion- v usually have more things in common than differences.

No. This site is an open forum - very few rules or guidelines. It will always be nothing more than entertainment. If you want meaningful dialogue you will have to create a forum that enforces the standard rules of debate. Y!A is not meant to provide meaningful dialogue - it is just a more sophisticated chat room that helps keep specific conversations on topic.

No, it doesn't come from the other side of the fence more than it does ours. They do it because we do it. If we stop it, so will they. And that is how it works. I am a Christian too.

But it would be nice if everyone could treat everyone else with respect, regardless of their beliefs.
