Insofar as they are human beings, and if they are not violent criminals, of course I have compassion for them. They should be fed a good meal, given a hot shower, clean clothes, a warm bed to sleep for one night, and then summarily deported.

No. I'm tired of saying we are all illegals as well. When the English came here there were no laws concerning immigrants, so to say that is a cop-out. I'm not saying that immigrants are bad, I'm saying illegals shouldn't be sympathized with. These people use our resources when they have no legal right to. How is it right that we spend billions on health care and welfare for an illegal, and there are still American children that go to sleep at night hungry when their parents are struggling to make minimum wage? Is it right that we are taking care of Mexico's problem before our own? Why is it our responsibility? People from Mexico say that that we are being unfair, when in their own country there are laws that bar immigrants from decent jobs. People always talk about their rights. WHAT RIGHTS? Does the constitution cover non-citizens? If they really want to be American citizens so bad why don't they do it through the proper channels? Instead they want to do it the wrong way. They want to cross our border illegally, never apply for citizenship, drain our resources, and then cry amnesty because somehow they think they are getting the raw deal. You know what the sad part is? Our government will not close the border until some nut job jihadist crosses the border from Mexico with a dirty bomb and kills another 10,000 U.S. citizens.

I'm absolutely amazed at how some people are quick to say no. there happens to be a case of illeagal immigrants in my province actually. they lived in the church, so the police would'nt arrest them. they werent thier because they had done some major crime in thier previous home, they were thier because they wanted a better life, so they came to Canada. but they couldnt afford to get a citisenship, or whatever it is they had to get, and they would now have to pay a fine. On top of it all this husband and wife had kids and were expecting another. People regularly brought them food. and clothing. This was the only way they could survive. After a while the father had to leave for something he was caught and sent back to his homeland. My point is that illeagal immigrants most of the time just cant afford to make it legal. Thier not bad people and usually just looking for a better home for thier family and just made a wrong turn some where (speaking metaphorically) dont be so quick to judge!

I feel badly that they are not given many of the "freedoms" or opportunities that we get in the U.S., but I do not feel bad for them when they skip the boarder and work for 10 dollars an hour the rest of their lifes.
I think the following is the answer to our problems:Bring our troops home from Iraq, to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq . Tell him if he wants to
come to America , then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it. After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq, and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves. If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo. Problem solved.

First of all stop categorizing all illegal aliens as being from Mexico. We have illegals from all over the world. In fact the list is too long to list. Just so you can be aware of it we have illegal aliens from India, Guatemala, England, and Canada to name a few. Let's go on to the question....
I have compassion for those that die or get hurt crossing the border. I have compassion for those that starve out in the desert or that are robbed, raped or killed crossing the border.
I don't have compassion for those that lie, cheat, steal, kill, sell drugs, gang bang, loaf, mooch and leech off of the system, steal identities, and have the nerve to bad mouth the United States of America. The latter I can't stand! If you're going to be here illegally don't scream out at the top of your lungs for equal rights in our streets and then talk crap about our country! The ^%$# nerve of some of them.

Compassion ? No I don't, I may understand why some come here illegally. But understanding and compassion are two very different emotions to me.One denotes reason the other denotes
caring about them after they cross our borders illegally.
I don't have compassion for any one that disrespects this nation.

No, unless you came here with legal papers and some snafu let your visa expire or didn't renew. Illegal immigrants are criminals. They came here of their own free will and with intent to cross our borders illegally and work illegally and break other laws. That's called premeditation.
I don't buy that illegal aliens come here for a better life -- not for one minute. If they wanted a better life, they could have it in their own country if they were willing to take the same kinds of actions in their own country as they did in coming to the USA. They are an invasion force and they have successfully hoodwinked our government and a lot of other people in the Country who are now just beginning to realize how much they have to pay for looking the other way or winking at our immigration laws.
If they wanted to come to the USA for a better life, they would learn the language, not demand that we learn theirs. They would pay their way, obey the laws and be model citizens. Instead, they march in our streets, demand preferential treatment and send the majority of their money back to their country of origin while collecting benefits that should belong to law abiding American Citizens and legal immigrants.
I have about as much compassion for illlegal immigrants and their illegitimate anchor babies as I do for murderers, theives, liars, cheats, drug dealers, etc. -- in other words -- NONE!!!!!

I have compassion for illegal immigrants but we can not accommodate anyone who wants to:
-Sneak into our country illegally
-bring drugs
-use identity theft to get jobs
-bring higher rates of crime
-want us to change our language to "suit" them
-Jump ahead of the people who are trying to "legally" emigrate
We need to defend our rights as AMERICANS.

Sure, but these people are not escaping a brutal dictatorship, just looking for greener pastures. We have a system in place to accept immigrants, if they don't or won't obey this rule of law why should we expect them to follow the others after all what do they have to lose.

Yes, but that still doesn't constitute a reason for them breaking the law. I have compassion for the criminals too, but I wouldn't dare think about committing a crime. I feel compassion for the immigrants because of how horrible their country is. However, I do not agree that they should break the law in order to escape. Thank you.
