I've looked all over the packet and there's no date or dose recommendation and I can't find the leaflet that comes with it...

I've rung up the vet and they say that a whole tablet is OK for a 2kg chihuahua.. however when I bought from them previously they recommended 1/2 a tablet for a 4kg chihuahua??

I am planning on buying some more on the internet (cheaper than vets) but not sure if it is worth stocking up on it or just buying as and when is necessary? Obviously don't want the tablets expiring if I store them.

I was hoping someone out there will be able to advise me..

thank you :)

I would not stock up unless I had numerous dogs and fleas. And You must wait 2-3-weeks between using Droncid. It usually comes in 34mg.tablets and for a 5# chihuahua I would give 1/4.of a tablet. If you don't know what the mgs. are or the instructions I believe I would purchase 1tablet from the vet and go by his instructions to be sure .You would be very sad if you lost your baby because of a $5.oo tablet. This medication comes in several different doses.Be very careful with your loved one .Good Luck!!!!!!!

First of all why are you treating your dog in the first place? Are you just doing it as a preventative. Honestly the best way to keep them parasite free is if you have them on heartworm prevention and flea prevention. Most heartworm prevention treats the roundworms, hookworms, and some of them treat whip worms. And as long as you keep your dog, house, and yard flea free you shouldnt have to worry about tapeworms. Drontal does have a proper dosage that goes with it and like all medicines it does have an expiration date. I dont remember the proper dosage off the top of my head but I am sure you can find it somewhere. Here is a website that has the label dosages for you.

Well I thought I might give you another idea for prevention of parasites beside just needlessly worming them. Hope this helps

Hey
Don't know about the doseage for your wee pooch cause i've a dalmatian. Drontal has a long life date and as your woofer has to be wormed really every 3 months you will get good use from bulk buying. What site are you buying from could do with it myself instead of expensive vets ?
