I am diabetic and on a calorie reduced diet for weight loss, I have been mixing my powdered milk with a part tin of 2% carnation milk, I use a 80-20 ratio, for the mixture, it doe cover the often bland taste of the instant milk.
If your not calorie counting, the full fat is fine or even the fat-free, but the ratio I use makes it palatable and doe not raise the fat content that much.

We made only 1/2 a pitcher and mixed in 2% for the other half. Other wise make sure you mix it 4 hours ahead of time so it can be chilled. It tastes MUCH better cold.

There is: use a blender to mix the milk. Add a very little amount (1/8 t) of clear vanilla. Add a little sugar (powdered) to sweeten it a little. to make up for the lactose in regular milk. The biggest thing is to make sure there is no powder remaining unmixed and use the amount they say on the directions
