On one had it would be good for them to be put in that position, so they can understand what persecution really is. However they would just say that Satan is responsible and its only happening because of their faith.
However when they do it to other people they say that it is the Lord's work.
I honestly think you can't make most Xians see the light about persecution.

Hey, where have you been ? Read the newspapers sometimes - you know the other parts - not the horoscopes or sales papers, or comics.
More people have been persecuted and killed because they were Christians in the 20th century and the first part of the 21st century than all of the other centuries put together.
It's a crime to be a Christian in many parts of the world. In certain parts, people are sold into slavery and whole towns and villages are starved and or burned to set an example for any others who want to convert to Christianity.
In other countries, missionaries are killed on a regular basis.
It's a crime to even wear a cross or carry a pen with a cross on it in these countries and whatever you do don't mention the name of Christ.
In these times, we have people like you on the Internet asking why Christians shouldn't be persecuted ? Yet you hate and denigrate us and despise our Lord. You do everything but come to our doors. You do come to our computers and threaten us.
In the coming Tribulation, things will only get worse for those who see the light and repent before Christ comes again. Those will be the martyrs of that time. It will be people like you that persecute and kill them.

Are there Christians these days who have been persecuted? Not in the US or any other "first world" country. Do I think that Christians need a taste of it? No, I would not wish upon anyone that kind of abuse.
What I do wish is that the Christians in the US would sit down and talk to people who have been persecuted and explain to them how they, the Christians are being persecuted.
It would be interesting to see how older 1st Nations People, older European Jews, Serbs, older Black people, Rom, Hindi, and others would react, and what they would say.
Oh B? clarification, there were no Christians before Jesus died, the movement wasn't started until after.

You mean American Fundamentalist Christians, right? They're the only ones that are unjustifiably complaining about being persecuted and British ones. Even then, I don't really think we should start giving them a real taste of what persecution is.

There are now more than 300 million Christians who are either threatened with violence or legally discriminated against simply because of their faith - more than any other religion. Christians are no longer, as far as I am aware, thrown to the lions. But from China, North Korea and Malaysia, through India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, they are subjected to legalised discrimination, violence, imprisonment, relocation and forced conversion. Even in supposedly Christian Europe, Christianity has become the most mocked religion, its followers treated with public suspicion and derision.
Christianity is the world's most followed religion, with two billion believers, and by far its most powerful. It is the most popular faith in six of the seven continents, and in both of the world's two biggest economies, the US and Europe. Seven of the G8 richest industrial nations are majority Christian, as are four out of five permanent members of the UN Security Council. The cheek-turners control the vast majority of the world's weapons of mass destruction.
Across the Islamic world, Christians are systematically discriminated against and persecuted. Saudi Arabia - the global fountain of religious bigotry - bans churches, public Christian worship, the Bible and the sale of Christmas cards, and stops non-Muslims from entering Mecca. Christians are regularly imprisoned and tortured on trumped-up charges of drinking, blaspheming or Bible-bashing, as some British citizens have found.
Furthermore, Saudi Arabia has announced that only Muslims can become citizens.
Get your facts right before you say Christains are not persecuted, we have been persecuted since Christ died on the Cross and even before than.

A group of Christians met in a home to study the Bible. Armed soldiers broke down the door, threw their only Bible on the ground and had each Christian, in turn, pass by the holy book and spit on it. One teenage girl could not - they shot her in front of her parents.
A group of Christians meeting were pulled from their hiding place, the children hanged in front of their parents, and the rest forced to lie down as a steam roller slowly crushed them to death.
There are many, many more incidents just like these - they happened within the last two years - I think this qualifies as persecution.

you know it is interesting, my husband and I were JUST talking about it. I do believe that Christians in American take freedom for granted. I know that there are Christians in other countries that are praying for real persecution to come to America. Not because they want harm to come to their brothers and sisters, but because they want the church as a whole to get our of their deadness and complacency and become on fire again.
I think it will come eventually, and I am more thinking that it will be the only thing that will revive the church in America. You look into history and anytime Christians were persecuted, many asked Christ into thier life and started living for Him, which would lead to their death as well. The true beleivers will stand the test.
If I get to die that way for my Savior, I consider it an honor

I often wonder how a Christian would feel if their religion and practice was twisted and demonized by people of religious authority.
Also, I wonder if they know how it feels to be terrified of the possibility of being tortured and executed in gruesome ways because The Big Bad Religion says what they practice is wrong.
Yes, Christians are just so put upon. I think we should throw them a pitty party. What do you think?
