I am not arguing the merits of the war in iraq, I'm simply stating that if you go AWOL you will go to jail and although it is unlikely to happen, a person could be EXECUTED for desertion. By joining the military a person agrees to follow the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) whether or not that person "agrees" with the war or not. If you don't like it do not join the military simple as that

Not to mention, if you are already AWOL, you have to face this sooner or later and the sooner you do the better you are. We all make mistakes in life, and only you know the reasons you left. You can't change what's already happened, and yes there are consequences. Face this and get your life back.

Ok, let me answer your comment with a question. Should the military be expected to fight an illegal war? Do they have any rights when our government asks them to perform duties not under an unlawful war? Do they have the right to come back and take over the government when the government is not abiding by its own laws? Do these soldiers have any rights when they took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the US? After all....every law maker and elected official takes an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution....against any foes...foreign or domestic????
