I don't care if you are for gay marriage or against it. What I do care about is anyone forcing their ridiculous religious dogma on me through our laws.

Who marries whom hurts no one else. It has no affect on me or you if Adam marries Steve, as you all love to put it.

Live and let live. Worry about your own morals and leave the rest of us to do the same for ourselves.

Dear Goddess no I do not want religion in our laws! That this discussion is still occuring at the beginning of the 21st Century astounds me. We are not living in the Middle Ages, when Biblical law was very applicable. We are able to determine based on society what is right and what is wrong, not based on what God told Moses thousands of years ago.

No. History has shown that this can not work. You can't give everyone Freedom to believe as they want and then turn around and give one religion free reign to make laws as they see fit.

Agreed... they need to worry about themselves. Clean up your own backyard before you come telling me that mine is a mess. And, again, agreed. If 2 gay guys get married it does absolutely Nothing to my marriage. The "sanctity" of my marriage, that all these people seem to be so worried about, is kept by me and my hub. If anything was going to attack the sanctity of it, I would think the Divorce Rate being so high would do something to it before 2 homosexuals getting married did.

Don't believe the hype the politicians are feeding us about same-sex marriage being about morals. It's about money! Big business and insurance companies don't want to incur the costs of the benefits that go along with marriages. It's about health benefits, job benefits, life insurance, family leave, etc. The government could care less about whether or not two men marry. They only tell us that because it somehow sounds better to us. Also, it pits us against each other...liberal v. conservative; religious v. non-religious; gay v. straight.

Religion should not be in our laws. The ban on gay marriage is actually anti-Christian, because it places a religious ceremony under government regulation. The "religious right" is about 27 million members strong, all of whom are well organized and very vocal. They control most of the Christian radio stations and television stations, as well as many legal organizations and lobbyist groups. Unfortunately, 27 million is only 2% of Christians world-wide.

Religion has no place in the laws or in the government. Because what happens is one religion gets its foot in the door and starts turning a country into a theocracy. I say to people who want such a government, go move to Iran so the rest of us can have a free country.

I would like to see laws that support the 10 commandments in the bible. Leave personal religious opinions out of it. The 10 commandments can do the trick alone.

Gay marriage is against God. And I'll be happy when there's a Muslim president in the USA because then Insha ALLAH everyone will be forced to live under Shariah Laws. I hope so anyway.

Yeah this country is founded on the idea of keeping religion out of the political system. Why don't we keep it that way??

No. Separation of church and state was the best thing that our founders could have done for my country. I am a Christian. That says something, doesn't it?

I dont see why people care. If god made humans then he made people gay...even if people argue that it is something you pick not how you are born...well then god gave the people to pick to be gay...either way religion needs to get up and leave.
