that everyone is unique in their own way. even though you may think you are "normal" doesn't mean everyone else sees you that way. The outside apperance of people by no means defines their character. My little girl plays with all diffrent kinds of people< white kids, black kids, asian kids, handicapped kids> i don't want her to act like a lot of the ignorant people out there who make fun of people who are diffrent. i think that is one of the most importaint lessons of life.

We are all different. The color of our skin doesn't matter, it is what is in our heart. Our religion doesn't matter, it is how we treat others.
My children have friends from all recial and religious backgrounds. They see them equally. There are good and bad people who come from all races and religions.
About disabilities - my children volunteer with children who have disabilities. Some of the children that they volunteer with are autistic, some other learning disabilities, some are deaf/hard of hearing, some are have other physical handicaps. By doing this they learn patience as well as what challenges that they have on a day to day basis. This is a program through our local school district and I feel it is a very good experience for them.
We all have to accept that we are all different but we are all human too!

Differences as in what? Gender? Culture? Sexuality?
I teach my children that everyone is different. That boys and girls are different, but that each person is different. And to treat each person as they would like to be treated in return. Culturally, I teach my children that because everyone is different that everyone believes differently and that is ok. There is no right or wrong per say and to stand for what they believe in.

i explain that everyone is different. Just like fingerprints or footprints. Some people have things going on at home that no one else might know about. Some people are black or white or purple or green, but we all are the same inside. And when we get to heaven all of our wings will be the same. None broken, none bigger, none smaller, etc. Hope this helps

I'm assuming you mean ethnic differences. My son is bi-racial and we live in a diverse community. Right now I think he'll just grow up thinking that different is the norm and that is how it should be. As long as you are tolerant to other people's differences your children will learn from your example.
