Let me first start by saying that this question is not meant for starting any fights. I was wondering why it seems that no matter what a Christian says on here, somebody always has something rude to say or throws the whole "it's just a myth" thing at them? I don't mean to offend anyone and i also now that Christians will be perscuted. It just seems that on this site Christians can't say anything to please anyone.

I am a Christian and for the most part, the rude slander just makes me want to learn more about my Savior.

God bless.

I understand that non believers are not the only ones who can be rude. Also i only used the word perscution because i knew alot of people would say that Christians are to be perscuted. I don't feel perscuted, not by rambling on of others.

People lash out with rude responses because that is what they have received. "You're going to hell". "Well, Jesus loves you anyway". "God Bless you." "You are an abomination". Is it any wonder? Persecution Christians think they are going through - and MOST have no idea what real persecution is - is usually well deserved. I too, am Christian, and I have never told ANYONE in response to anything that they are going to hell, that Jesus loves them anyway, or that they are an abomination ( no matter what they do or have done). It is not my place, and it should not be yours either. It is only God's place, as only he can place judgment. Do not be the messenger of judgment - because, yet again, you overstep your place. And that, fellow Christian, is why so much 'trashing' goes on on this site. It is well deserved.

Well, have you looked at how the general populous of Christians behave? Christians have a very bad reputation for being rude, hateful, and even down-right violent toward other religions. Especially those of polytheistic origins. So, taking history into consideration, is it any wonder why Christian's are bad-mouthed?

Sure, not all Christians are like this. As a matter of fact, I know a few who are open minded, accepting and exhibit Christ-like behavior. However, that's not the majority, unfortunately.

I'm sorry to break it to you, but Christians aren't the only people prosecuted. I think the Jews and Pagans have you beat on that one. That aside, every religion has been prosecuted, every religion has been seen as preposterous at one time or another.

Also, not one secular thing will make everyone on this planet happy at the same time. Not everyone is going to like what I have to say, not everyone is going to like what the old woman down the street has to say ... it's not the matter of religion. It's the matter of human nature.

So, what Christians are "going through" is completely normal, and to put it nicely, they've had it pretty good compared to other religious groups. So, be happy!

My friend, that does not happen only to Christians. The internet is accessible to all. Every possible ideology and philosophy are on-line. No matter who says what, someone else is going to ridicule it. Some people just ridicule everything and that is their only point in being on-line. Others are looking to fight other ideologies. And in every camp, including Christianity, there are plenty of people incapable of rational, respectful dialogue with anyone that they disagree with. My advice to you is do not take it personally and don't worry about it. God Bless You

Slander is spoken, so nothing here is slander.

Also "it is just a myth" is a personal opinion. That in and of itself is not rude at all.

Some people here (on both sides) are rude jerks. However you seem to think your beliefs cannot even be challenged at all! That is ridiculous. ***Beliefs can be discussed, analyized and debated.***

If you consider *that* persecution then you are against the free flow of ideas! Free speech disagrees with you.

We live in a free society (for now, at least) and in a free society there is the free exchange of ideas. I agree many folks in here go out of their way to be insulting smart-alecks, but you must admit, given the condescending, smug, and insulting nature of some Christian questions, they sometimes ask for it. And agnostics and atheists who ask the same kind of questions should expect to get slammed, too. But that's what free speech is about, and why it's a cherished liberty. If you only want to hear your own beliefs reflected back to you, you need to stay off the Internet.

Hello
I guess being a christian and persecution of some degree go hand in hand.

Jesus never promised anyone an easy time in fact it will get harder for a christian than easier because of the nature of mankind towards God.

Of course some people believe God is Imaginary.

Learning more about your Saviour will make you more of a target for persecution.

Good luck with trying to please people on yahoo answers.

Hope this helps

Awwww, that's cute. Try being a pagan on this site and asking a simple question about a ritual, or a moon phase and see who the first 3 - 4 answers are from...

Really? You think it has something to do with the fact that ANYONE who wants to put a comment up, CAN? Might be a good reason...

It might also be retaliation for the number of questions answered with "god bless" or "I'll pray for you" or "Go to hell."

Or Maybe they're just immature. Who knows...

Also, just a point of advice- I wouldn't refer to Christians being persecuted very often... it gets you a lot of responses you obviously don't want to hear...

I Know what you mean.
It disturbs me though about one aspect and result of that treatment of Christians.
I know that the persecution will only grow worse as time goes on, and as it does, some Christians unfortunately will respond with a militant attitude, and retaliate, what I fear will happen is a revolt, so bad that what is happening in Iraq will pale in comparison to what will most likely happen here, if the Christian Bashers wont lay off. Not to say I would be among them, but to say, the bashers brought it upon themselves because of their own Hypocrisy, they teach social tolerance towards every life style, BUT Christian this is a hypocrisy. I believe if you teach social tolerance like that, it applies for all of it, or none of it.
This hypocrisy will result in a lot of blood being spilled and it will be in my opinion on their heads, not the Christians.
I myself have spent 20 years in the military and am a survivalist and know how to survive in the wilderness, I will flee into that and escape the carnage.
