Because this category is "religion & spirituality". Logic is usually missing from religion and spirituality.

Because most people here are either believers or non-believers. They are at opposite sides of the spectrum.
There are a few who are truly open-minded and tolerant, but they may be the minority.
People tend to get hotheaded over person beliefs. It's human nature.
I do think it's fine for all to post here (atheists too!), but I do agree that since these forums are about discussing religion, and I assume most wanting to do that ARE believers, than perhaps the science and philosophy forms are a more logical place for some posts.
Peace.

Because many people look at this as foolishness. Many people go by the old law of the Bible which is only to show us how Holy God is and how far mankind is away from the truth. The truth is as I was showed is Jesus is love which is a genuine feeling not some wacky fanatic trying to make the Bible their God . Peace and love is Jesus and you receive this from Jesus .Even if a person is not saved at this time It is totally up to God when that person will be saved and for those wacky fanatics who want to destroy all they have to do is read the Bible and it says People may plan all kinds of things but the Lords will is going to be done Proverbs 19v21

Because this category reflects, to some measure, the global discussion between the different religious traditions. There is little real logical discussion going on in the world between the religions; there is far more uncritical thought, violence, and mutual condemnation.
I, for one, am with you: what's so funny 'bout peace, love, and understanding?

That is because logic and reason are hard to apply to a faith-based topic such as religion. When the faithful claim something to be true, they are claiming different criteria for truth than when someone claims a truth based on reason and logic. Emotion rules, and egos get bruised easily in here.

Logically speaking, Religion isn't logical. Mankind feels the need to believe in a higher power yet feels he is superior and that in itself is an oxymoron.
I am NOT saying there isn't a God - what I am saying in theologically that is how most people view religeon. And according to every religion- you can only go to heaven if you belong to their religion. So which one is right?

Because defending a person's religion tends to bring out people's emotions.
This applies to both Christians and Evolutionist.

Becuase people that don't have religion shouldn't be in this category spilling there oppinons on us. All you people that don't believe in any kind of god should all go to the Science category, instead of the religon. Considering Science is NOT a religon.

I don't really recall any great periods of logical discussion in R&S; this is pretty much a war zone.
