I work evenings and dinner time is close to bed time. I've heard you should never eat right before bed because you don't have a chance to work the calories off. Thanks!

Going to bed on a full stomach isn,t healthy and will often cause other problems like indigestion, and discomfort, leads to sleeplessness etc.
Good foods to eat near bedtime are a little piece of chicken, steamed preferable, a bowl of custard and fruit.
a small plate of cheese and nuts bread stick,
.
Yoghurt, cream cheese with water crackers etc.
Try to eat a main meal at lunch time, & take the time to have some kind of healthy snack at smoko or whatever the last break before going home.like a bowl of salad with cheese, flaked salmon, or chicken roll & salad etc. so to not be extra hungry.
Then not needing to eat much when you get home.
Sleep well.
Have good breakfast, ( light) and good heavier meal at lunchtime,

I'm pregnant so I always eat before bed, cereal like you mostly. Tea is woooonnnderfullll before bed. Excpecially when it's cold outside. Anything warm before bed will calm you and may help you to fall asleep faster. Green tea and peppermint tea are great, but any tea that you might like is wonnnderful before bed.

a big salad with some lean protein like fish or chicken breast on top is fine to eat anytime. just watch the dressing, as that's where the calories are hidden

a small salad, or a piece of fruit. Nothing saturated in fat or calories, I think the best option is low fat yogurt is only 90 cals per serving and it tastes pretty good.

Alot of ppl. have busy lifestyles and can't eat until late.
try to stay away from red meat (like steak)
and really starchy foods (like pasta or potatoes)
because they take longer for your body to digest.
try eating light fruits and grains, and maybe some chicken or fish.

A bowl of cereal with low-fat milk or just the milk! Milk has protein and good carbs and will even help you sleep! Have your biggest meal at lunch time (you probably already do).
