if america went to war with the entire world, and had a total war not just sending a few men here and there, do you think thay would defeat the world, and remember the usa has the very best times ten of everthing.

you people arnt getting what im saying, for starters its just a question for a bit of fun, and im not talking about ocupying im talking about defeating, killing every soilder then leaving, china has a lot of soilders but remember 1 missile can kill 10000 men.

China cannot defeat us. They can stalemate in a conventional war where we invade them but have limited capability to invade us. A total war means nukes and once that happens, no one wins and cockroaches survive to become the next intelligent species.

If I am reading the question correctly you are saying try to kill everyone that is not from USA? If that were the case and all weapon systems were allowed odds are the world would end. While we would take a large percentage with us if everyone fought side by side against us we would be crushed. Remember the world pop is over 6 Billion and the US only has 300 Million. Do the math on how many people every American would have to kill to win such a war. And I doubt I would want to be around at the end of such a conflict.

Not without using its nuclear arsenal. China has way more soldiers than we do. Even if we conscript every man, woman, and child in the US we would not be able to wage a world war against everyone in the world. Remember, we will need to leave a considerable amount of people in the US to work the factories to keep the soldiers equiped. We would also need to leave a large force occupying the US to prevent against invasion. If we started this massive war against everyone (or if they started it against us) we would not be able to use every soldier for fighting in other countries or else the other countries will just invade the US.
We have plenty of nuclear arsenal to burn up the world if we chose. However, I do not think that is what you are thinking about. We have better technology than most, however there is something to be said about size of army.
Also, to what gain? There is no way we could hold on to the entire world. We would be decimated in the attempt to defeat it all and would not be able to keep the soldiers in place to control it all. We would have to bring the soldiers back with the knowledge that we won and start to rebuild. At the same time the rest of the world will rebuild and a new world war will start brewing.

The US can defeat the entire world with only our Navy and Air Force.
We have the capability to cut off the supply of oil to and from any country we desire simply be declaring a naval blockade. And there is no country in the world that can do anything about this.
We can do the same thing for any other kind of maritime trade.

If we did that we would be just as dead as everybody else. Why? Because nukes are the great equalizer and even if we nuked everybody before they nuked us( a complete impossibility due to sub launched missiles.) We would still die from all that fallout. For the sake of argument nukes weren't involved we would still lose as it takes too long to replace our lost equipment our industrial back bone isn't what it used to be your doing good if you can build 20 tanks a month or a dozen fighter planes. We have a very high quality force but it takes too long to build and maintain it for large conflicts the same problem hit Germany in WW2. While they built the best equipment we built mediocre Equipment by the 10's of thousands. With this we buried the technologically superior Germans. The same would happen to us on a world take over campaign.

I don't think so. The world is a very large place as far as conquering it goes. The British have a very strong military, no doubt, and perhaps the Australians as well. Nearly every country in the civilized world has a military. Sure, we are a force to be reckoned with, but the entire WORLD? And I wouldn't want to mess with North Korea right about now. I really don't want to be nuced or bombed.

Why does everyone think what is going on now in Iraq is a war? We can't even do our job there without being hamstrung by the media/politics and our own government. If we could do what we are capable of, there would be no issue. Remember, we blew through the regular Iraqi army in less than 100 hours. Head to head, and one on one, we could take any country in the world if we could use our full potential (even without nukes), but who is crazy enough to think we would take on the whole world by ourselves, that is just plain lunacy.

I wouldn't say that China can outright defeat us. They have the numbers to make it interesting. But, no, we couldn't take on the whole world at one time. I don't care how much technology you have, it is a numbers game.
As far as the nuclear arsenal. Sure, would could unleash it on the world, and maybe win technically. But, what would be left worth having if that were the case.

C'mon, the U.S. is already in a quagmire in Iraq now. It's already obvious that it's having difficulty in this country alone. What is Iraq compared to the rest of the world?.
Do not be too confident that that the U.S. has the best weapons and therefore can beat everybody. China and Russia had seen the U.S. weapons technology as they have been used in Iraq. Who knows, they might have been developing something similar in secret?. Even the CIA don't have the slightest idea of what's going on in these countries' weapons development programs.
Don't ever think in the same way that the Nazis had thought in World War II, who considered themselves as having the best army and weapons in the world, that they can beat everybody. But now you know who won World War II.

The US Will never even think of that even if drunk. They themselves know that there are countries just as strong as or even stronger than they do. Russia and its former soviet allies can take care of the US really quick. Talk about weapons they have them. China is next door two. US just have too much noice and propaganda, but its good they know where to go with it.
